Comcast customers reported a widespread service outage lasting up to an hour or more in the San Francisco and Seattle areas Monday night by taking to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the TV and internet service provider. Customers began noting the outage on Twitter shortly after 8:30 p.m. in Seattle and San Francisco. Rick Eames tweeted "@comcast, what happened in 98074 tonight? No internet, no voice, spotty TV, and the 800# won't recognize the number YOU PROVIDE. #fail." The Seattle Times reported that Comcast engineers had resolved the issue behind the widespread outage, but some customers in that area were still without service as of 11 p.m.
