Officers Disciplined For Chasing Suspect Through Golf Course

Moorhead, MN - Moorhead Police videos that show a high-speed chase on a golf course in south Moorhead. Several officers were disciplined after chasing North Dakota drug suspect Kendall Feist onto the Village Green Golf Course in June, 2014. The pursuit continued to West Acres Shopping Center in Fargo where Feist was found hiding in a dumpster. An internal investigation determined that four Moorhead police officers broke department policy during the chase. The punishments included written reprimands and unpaid suspensions of up to four days. Feist was recently sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for selling meth. State charges against Feist were dropped.

The conservative commentator went on a rant posted to YouTube saying that Americans are stupid because they continue to participate in a political system that is broken. Ed Berliner, a host for conservative news site Newsmax, showed clips of Republican candidates Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina, and Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, (I-VT) talking about frustration of American voters who are tired of the status quo and never see change, no matter who they vote into office. "Yes America's angry, but let's also face some facts. A good part of America is stupid," Berliner said. "We're a nation where a majority of people walk into a ballot booth and pull levers, punch out tiny tabs, or marking boxes, everything Republican or Democrat without a second thought." He also criticized Kentucky anti-gay county clerk Kim Davis for using religion to "fail to follow the law of the land." "Look in the mirror, America. See the face of those who allow clown car drivers and slick hucksters to decide your fate and that of this nation. Maybe then you'll take some personal responsibility to do your homework instead of allowing your brain to curdle into pathetic political mush.

Desperate refugees waiting to leave the Greek island of Lesbos say they are determined to make their way to northern Europe, despite closed borders and razor-wire fences standing in their way. Syrian woman Rim, who is pregnant, has fled the war-torn country with her little girl. "Even if the borders close, I will pass through the smaller roads," she said. "We are desperate. We are fleeing for a better future for my daughter and the baby I am expecting. I am leaving to offer a better life to my children. If I have to climb mountains, or die to succeed, I will." Omar, 31, has come from the Syrian city of Homs. His home has been bombed and his brothers and sisters killed. "I know it is closed in Hungary," he recognised. "They say they will expel people to Serbia. If it's not possible, we will find another road. We will cross. What do you expect us to do? We don't have any other choice. Where are we going to stay? No, we will keep on, we won't stay here." Greece has become the main gateway for refugees flowing into Europe, many of them fleeing conflict in Syria and Afghanistan, in the continent's worst migration crisis since World War Two. The UNHCR, UN refugee agency, says almost 300,000 people this year have arrived in Greece, crossing from Turkey on overcrowded boats or flimsy dinghies. In recent days alone, dozens have died trying to make the dangerous journey. Whether Europe's borders are open or closed, those fleeing the horrors of war are set to keep coming. That point is stressed by Medecin Sans Frontieres, the medical humanitarian organisation helping refugees on the frontline of the migration crisis.
