While out and about, in the University District, Seattle, WA, I observed this street preacher telling people they were going to Hell, unless they repented. I, being me, took this opportunity to approach her and try asking a few questions. What I thought might be a video of me talking to a street preacher, turned into something quite different when a man who witnessed me obviously filming, took the opportunity to come into my video and tell me I was an asshole and should be nicer to people. With regards to ALL participants in this encounter - I support them all. I support her right to stand on a corner and preach. I support his right to tell me I am an asshole. I certainly support the right of a citizen journalist to document the entire encounter. The man who called me an asshole seemed to be a really nice fellow. He was willing to dialogue with me and share his thoughts. The camera makes a lot of people angry. What he might not have realized is this encounter was probably captured on a NUMBER of different cameras from a number of different angles - but those cameras belong to his government. I think the idea of someone calling another an asshole, while simultaneously telling them they should be nicer to people, is quite a dichotomy. Those who know me or view my videos know I am an open carry advocate. MANY people have suggested it is the open carry that causes so much dissention. I have always maintained it is the camera, and not my firearm, that causes such an uproar in public. For this video, I was neither concealed nor open carrying. I was simply documenting the daily goings on in the streets. Rogue Reflections http://ift.tt/1mX7O1m
