Burglars Run Like Cockroaches Once Alarm Goes Off

Falling to Earth: unmanned Russian spacecraft 'has nowhere else to go' Cargo vessel ferrying supplies to the International Space Station is said to be falling to Earth after contact was lost 3,424 A Russian spacecraft that is tumbling around the Earth after it malfunctioned en route to the International Space Station (ISS) could remain in orbit for more than a week before crashing down to Earth. Unmanned Russian cargo spacecraft is falling to Earth - live All the latest developments as Progress M-27M vessel, which was carrying supplies to the International Space Station, is said to be out of control Read more Thomas Reiter, director of human spaceflight and operations at the European Space Agency, told the Guardian that if Russian engineers could not regain control of the stricken vessel it could spiral down to Earth within the next 10 days. The 7m-long Progress 59 vessel malfunctioned soon after it reached orbit on Tuesday and went into an uncontrolled spin. Flight controllers have so far failed to establish two-way communications with the spacecraft as it passes over Russian ground stations. An official Russian space agency statement is expected later on Wednesday. Ahead of the statement, an official familiar with the situation told Agence France-Presse: "It has started descending. It has nowhere else to go. It is clear that absolutely uncontrollable reactions have begun." Igor Komarov, head of Roskosmos, the Russian space agency, was quoted by agency LifeNews as saying: "A safe docking with the ISS is not possible. We are working out different options for a water landing." Progress capsule is used to carry food, water, fuel and other supplies to the space station. Once it has been unloaded, it is designed to be jettisoned in a controlled re-entry over the southern Pacific that ensures any fragments that do not burn up in the atmosphere land in the ocean. The concern is now that if the spacecraft falls back to Earth on an uncontrolled path some fragments may fall on land. The danger to people is slim though: more than two thirds of the Earth's surface are covered by water and only 3% of the land is heavily populated. "Re-entry is normally done over the south Pacific to avoid any debris falling on firm terrain," said Reiter, a former astronaut. "Not everything will burn up and if it's an uncontrolled entry then there could be fragments that will hit the surface." "If my colleagues can't get it under control, that could be within a week, maybe one and a half weeks at most." The Russian flight controllers have a chance to make contact with the capsule every 90 minutes when it soars overhead. Reiter said he had instructed the space agency's European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt to track the spacecraft so that teams can predict when and where the spacecraft will come down if it cannot be rescued. Such calculations are not easy, because it is impossible to predict exactly how a tumbling spacecraft will break up as it re-enters. "It depends on the motion of the vehicle, and the fuel tanks might or might not explode and lead to a further fragmentation," Reiter said. The European Space Agency last year retired its own cargo vessel, the ATV, which at 20 tonnes is far heavier than the Russian Progress spacecraft. The space agency has never recorded any debris from the ATV surviving re-entry, but believe that its bulky docking mechanism could theoretically remain intact. The spacecraft launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 8.09am UK time on Tuesday and was intended to dock with the space station on Thursday. That rendezvous plan has now been postponed indefinitely. Onboard are 2.5 tonnes of food, water, fuel and other supplies for the ISS crew. The six crew aboard the International Space Station have enough supplies onboard to cope if the spacecraft cannot be saved. The problem became apparent went the spacecraft failed to confirm that its antennas had deployed properly and that a propulsion unit needed for docking had pressurised. Engineers now hope to get the spacecraft into a stable orbit until the glitch can be fixed. The spacecraft is 160 miles high and travelling at more than 16,000 miles per hour. That altitude is sufficiently below the space station to pose the crew no problems, but some satellites might need to take evasive manoeuvres. Such moves were becoming ever more necessary in space, said Reiter. The Russians still hope to re-establish communications with the spacecraft and place it in a safe orbit while they work to solve any ongoing glitches. If that work goes to plan, they may be able to regain control and re-attempt docking with the space station.

The west is happy to see Ukraine wage war on its pro-Russian east, but not happy about the prospect of paying for it What if the Ukrainian government resumes the war noone wants to pay for - not the US, the European Union, Poland, Canada, least of all Kiev? Public statements by Ukrainian and international officials identify two payment deadlines for war, and for peace. The first falls on May 31, Natalie Jaresko, the US minister of Ukrainian Finance, has told the London Times, when $15.3 billion in sovereign bond debt must be written off "through lower interest rates, longer payment terms, and in some cases, a cut in the sum owed." The second deadline falls a month later, at the end of June, when the International Monetary Fund (IMF) must decide whether the government in Kiev has met the conditions required for payment of $1.5 billion, the second instalment of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) which commenced just six weeks ago. A default on May 31 will make inevitable a delay in IMF loan disbursement in June. The combination will halt the European Union promise to start a new EUR1.8 billion in Macro Financial Assistance (MFA). Russian sources believe that unless Kiev starts a new military offensive in the Donbass within days, when cross-border Russian action can be blamed, creditor governments pressured into paying and bondholders into conceding losses, there won't be enough cash later on to pay for troops, machines and ammunition. "We have done everything possible to get to peace", Jaresko told the Times on March 29. "Russia seems to have a much grander plan here. They are trying to ensure we are a failed state." A month later, her threat has proved unconvincing to bond-holders, a majority of them American. At Monday's (April 27) summit meeting between Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, the EU was also unmoved. In a lengthy communique, the EU insisted on "decentralisation" of government in the east; "inclusive constitutional reform"; and "de-escalation and a political solution based on respect for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, in particular in the framework of the Normandy format the Minsk Agreements." These are all provisos against the resumption of large-scale fighting in the Donbass. In response to Ukrainian requests for up-front and accelerated funding from Brussels, Tusk and Juncker said no; that's to say, not yet. In a paper distributed before the summit began, the EU announced "EUR1.8 billion in medium-term loans between now and early 2016. Disbursement will be conditional on implementation of specific economic policy and financial conditions outlined on the Memoranda of Understanding." By the time the communique was released yesterday, the desperation of the Ukrainians and the reluctance of the Europeans were revealed in the word "swiftly", inserted twice into the final communique, to make the unlikelihood of new money seem more adverbial, less subjunctive. Here they are in Point 8. "The leaders agreed to swiftly conclude the Memorandum of Understanding and Loan Agreement of the third macro-financial assistance programme to allow for a swift disbursement of the first tranche possibly by mid-2015." When the European Council met on March 19, it said the speed at which the new MFA money would be paid to Kiev was dependent on, and "in line with IMF conditionality." The IMF, however, is in no hurry. That's why the European Council, Tusk and Juncker are willing to withdraw their "early 2016" target for disbursement, but add "possibly" to mention of a mid-2015 target. David Lipton, an apparatchik from the Clinton Administration, then the Obama White House, is the deputy managing director of the IMF under the French appointee, Christine Lagarde. He is what the Wall Street Journal calls the "critical conduit between the IMF and the U.S. government". For his policy advice he is also the holder of the Polish Order of the Knight's Cross. On April 7, speaking to the Victor Pinchuk branch of the Washington think-tank PIIE, Lipton said: "With the financing that is already pledged, reserve cover for imports is likely to reach three months by June compared with less than one month's cover before the IMF agreement . This will result from front loaded Fund disbursements, and bilateral loans and swaps now being arranged." What Lipton also meant was that if the bilateral loans and swaps fail to be arranged in time, the deadline for a bond repayment cut will strike at the same time as the Ukraine will run out of operating and trading cash: "The talks that the government is conducting with its creditors to restructure external debt are aimed at that objective. Public and publicly guaranteed debt is projected to peak at 94 percent of GDP in 2015. The aim of the restructuring would be to secure $15 billion in additional financing over 2015-18." Lipton hinted at how difficult it is for the IMF to agree that the Ukrainian government can meet the IMF conditions to qualify for the second EFF payout. "There are key structural impediments in the banking system. These include an ownership structure that too often funnels excessive lending to insiders-often with sweetheart deals. The government is starting to address this issue with a strengthened regulatory and supervisory framework intended to bring the banking system into line with international best practices." The irony of Lipton saying this on the tab of Pinchuk, whose Credit Dnepr bank is one of the beneficiaries of "insider deals", may have been missed by the PIIE audience. It hasn't been lost on the IMF Executive Board. Since Lipton's remarks on April 7, the IMF convened its Spring round of meetings with board directors and finance ministers representing the Fund stakeholders. Fresh money for Ukraine was a subject passed over in near-total silence. Poul Thomsen, the director of the Fund's European Department, conceded on April 17 that "we project recession this year, reflecting fallout from the conflict in Ukraine, ongoing macroeconomic adjustment, and, of course, in Russia's case, lower oil prices and weakened confidence." No more. At the conclusion of the finance ministers' session of the Fund's Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), there was no mention at all of Ukraine. In Lagarde's summing up for the press, there was calculated avoidance. "I would not want you to go away with the idea that everything is a risk and there are no bright spots, because there are bright spots in the global economy as we see it." Lagarde went further: "Russia is clearly an important partner of the IMF and one with which we are working steadily and which we very much count upon to ensure certainty, stability in the region." She ignored Ukraine. The footnote reveals that the IMF already acknowledges that the Ukrainian government may fail to meet the "performance criteria" which are the Board's conditions for making further payments. Last year's abortive IMF loan stopped in mid-year for the same reason, compounded by the opening of the Ukrainian Army's offensive against Lugansk and Donetsk. For more on whether the IMF Board will countenance fresh loan disbursements during civil war, read this. In reserve, in case the board can be persuaded to ignore the war and the failure of Ukrainian EFF compliance, Lagarde and Lipton have agreed, according to the footnote, that the second tranche may become payable "on the completion of a review" by IMF staff - even if that concludes there is non-compliance and non-performance. The European Department's analysts, Pritha Mitra and Tigran Poghosyan, have published an econometric analysis explaining why the performance conditions have what they call "a multiplier effect of less than one". That's IMF talk for bound-to-fail. Here's the research paper, dated March 2015. Authorizing publication was Nikolay Gueorguiev, head of the Fund's Ukraine review team. Gueorguiev supervised last year's Ukraine loan failure without ever acknowledging there was non-compliance with the performance criteria. For Gueorguiev's record, read this. The analysts conclude with the warning that the public position of their own house is untenable. "Given the severe challenges facing the Ukrainian economy, it is important that policymakers apply these results in conjunction with broader considerations such as public debt sustainability, investor confidence, credibility of government policies, and public spending efficiency." Gueorguiev has attached the disclaimer: "This Working Paper should not be reported as representing the views of the IMF.The views expressed in this Working Paper are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent those of the IMF or IMF policy." Poroshenko tried last week to improve the cosmetics on the IMF's public face. On April 23, the president's website announced the president and managing director had spoken by telephone. Poroshenko asked for acceleration of the second tranche, translated as: "Petro Poroshenko has informed on the progress of reforms in Ukraine and emphasized that they were aimed at ensuring transparency and economic stabilization of Ukraine." No, Lagarde replied. "The Managing Director has reaffirmed full support to the restructuring of Ukraine's debt liabilities." On Monday Poroshenko also tried to get EU underwriting of commercial bank loans, state guarantees and insurance for project investments with Ukrainian companies. On this threshold too, Tusk and Juncker stubbed their toes. "In this context," reads Point 7 of the communique, "the leaders welcomed the organisation by Ukraine of the International Conference on Support for Ukraine the day after the Summit, which would allow Ukraine to communicate its reform efforts to the wider world and reflect with the international community on the next steps in the reform process and the necessary support measures." Today's Kiev conference programme can be read in full here. The speaker list includes senior officials of junior states; junior officials of senior states; and a great many US officials of the middle echelon. Not a single Ukrainian businessman of oligarch size appears, and only one foreign business figure of sizeable capital. He's Jan Kulczyk, Poland's leading oligarch. He is billed for a talk on "the Opportunities for International Investors in Ukraine". Through a Luxembourg entity called Kulczyk Investments, Kulczyk's principal advisors on the Ukraine are the ex-Polish president, Alexander Kwasniewski, who is also on the payrolls of Pinchuk and Igor Kolomoisky; and retired US Marine General and former NATO Commander, James Jones. Through an elaborate offshore structure, Kulczyk controls two Toronto-listed oil and gas companies, Loon Energy Corporation and Serinus Energy Inc, and a Warsaw-listed entity called Kulczyk Oil Ventures (KOV). The first two have been slipping towards worthlessness since they were first listed on the Canadian exchange. In Warsaw KOV was floated in 2010 to raise money to buy five oil and gas fields west of Lugansk city and in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian assets were included in the takeover Kulczyk arranged in 2013 with Winstar, a cash-short developer of oil and gas properties in Tunisia, Syria, and Brunei. The new combination was renamed Serinus Energy. The company website shows the location of the Ukrainian fields as follows: Company officials won't say where the current line of contact runs between the Ukrainian army and the Novorussian forces. Kulczyk's minority-stake partners in Ukraine include Mikhail Afendikov, a Donetsk native and owner of CUB Energy, another Toronto-listed junior of negligible value; and the Pala Investments group of Vladimir Iorikh, the onetime co-owner of Mechel. Iorikh lives in Switzerland; his son Yevgeny occupies a seat on the Serinus board. The company financial reports show sales revenues of US$146.7 million in 2013; $164.3 million in 2014. The bottom line was a loss of $59 million in 2013; $58.1 million last year. Current market capitalization of the company is C$80 million (US$66 million), about half of what Kulczyk paid for Winstar two years ago. The value is falling because the market expects the financial position of the company to grow worse this year. The first-quarter results confirm it. Serinus has been reporting serious problems in the Ukraine, less with the fighting in Lugansk and Donetsk regions, more with the royalty, foreign exchange, and gas sale policies which the Kiev government has introduced, in line with the IMF recommendations. According to the company, "the steadily deteriorating security situation on the ground in Ukraine eventually led to the suspension of drilling and workover operations in the third quarter as the lines of the conflict moved close to the Olgovskoye and Makeevskoye Fields. Drilling resumed in October, but overall, the Company was unable to accomplish all of its planned capital program for the year. Even now, many of the service companies that formerly operated in Ukraine have not returned, limiting some of the operations that might be done such as stimulations." But worse, Kiev has doubled the royalty tax on Serinus's revenues, and curtailed its foreign exchange movements, as well as its ability to pipe and sell its gas within the Ukraine market. In a report to shareholders last week, the chief executive Timothy Elliott said: "Effective August 1, 2014, the royalty rates on natural gas and oil/liquids were increased to 55% and 45% (from 28% and 43%) respectively. The royalty is however calculated on the maximum official gas price set by the Government, and the private producers sell at a discount to that price. The result is that the effective royalty has been over 60%." "In November 2014, the government passed three bills which effectively reserved a large portion of the natural gas market in Ukraine for the state oil company. This left private producers such as KUB-Gas, scrambling to find alternative creditworthy customers, and many were forced to shut in production and take lower prices for what they could sell. On March 31, 2015, the High Administrative Court of Ukraine upheld the rulings of two lower courts that these restrictions were illegal, and while sales volumes increased in April, a full market recovery has yet to occur." What is Kulczyk doing in Kiev promoting investment opportunity in these circumstances? According to a Warsaw analyst, Kulczyk "wants to make a show in Kiev, get the certificate of 'good oligarch', and then lobby for reform of the royalty, tax and other laws to save his investments in the east. You might call that pragmatic cynicism at its best." Serinus's vice president for investor relations, Jacub Korczak in Warsaw, was asked what proposals Kulczyk and his company are making in Kiev to address the financial problems identified in last week's report to shareholders. He was also asked what relationship the company has with the Lugansk and Donetsk administrations since the start of the fighting; and what impact, if any, Serinus has experienced from the Dniepropetrovsk regional administration during the governorship of Igor Kolomoisky. The Canadian executives at the company office in Alberta were asked the same questions. They refuse to reply.

The International Monetary Fund's plan to sidestep the United States in its reform to increase the influence of developing countries is set to make China the country with the third-largest voting power in the organization, according to Shanghai's China Business News. IMF vice president Zhu Min speaks at the Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin, September 2014. (File photo/CNS) IMF deputy managing director Zhu Min stated after the 2015 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF April 20 that the fund had already adopted a Plan B, since it can no longer wait for US congressional approval for its proposed reforms. The reform, which is aimed at giving more voting power to emerging economies, was passed by IMF member countries in 2010, but requires Congress's approval because the plan involves funding changes. Currently, the US has 17.9% of the total voting share and is the only member that enjoys the right to veto, while half of the voting rights are controlled by developed countries. Under the proposal, China is set to see its voting share rise from 3.994% to 6.390%, while the US will have 16.75% and Japan will have 6.98%, according to the report. Despite the support of President Barack Obama, the Republican-controlled Congress has been blocking the IMF reform proposal, said Ou Yongming, a researcher at Renmin University of China in Beijing. Ou said the proposal is unlikely to be passed before a Republican wins the White House or the Democrats regain control of Congress. According to Qiao Yide, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Shanghai Development Research Foundation, IMF chief Christine Lagarde hinted at two possible options for the so-called Plan B during a recent visit to China. To get around the required US approval, the IMF might decide to not double the total quota - the principal source of the fund's financial resources - and just move 6% in quota share from European countries to developing countries, Qiao said. The other option Lagarde divulged, according to Qiao, involves an ad hoc increase that will allow developing countries to see a bump in their quotas without affecting the US quota. "The U.S. will not abandon the IMF, which is a multilateral organization. But what is worth noting is that the US will not change the status quo unless the country faces great pressure," Qiao said. If the IMF reforms fail to go through, it will spur other countries' efforts to establish another multilateral organization outside the fund, such as the China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Qiao added. http://ift.tt/1bdUcfN

I'm sure most of you have seen the meme's comparing White riots to Black riots. We all know a couple rowdy college students goin wild in the street after a big win is a completely different scenario that what happened in Ferguson and what is currently happening in Baltimore. However, hippy race baiters continuously try to portray this comparison of Whites vs Blacks rioting as unfair and unequal. What they fail to mention are the main differences in the two. "White Riots" , flip a few cars, break a few windows maybe, home at the end of the night, run from police. "Black Riots", burn down the neighborhood you live in and grew up in and family lives in and grew up in. Destroy and loot the stores that your neighbors and families own and work in and make a living through. Shoot at, Throw rocks, Molotov cocktails, etc at the police like its an uprising in the middle east. Clearly there is a big difference, but that is besides the point. The point I'm here to make is that these so called "White Riots" are not white riots at all. While there are many whites in the history of this country that rioted for stupid reasons, it is not limited to one people. I wondered how many non-whites attended these "White Riots" that seemed to occur after sporting events at colleges. I figured with affirmative action and all these african american scholarships, there really are no "White colleges" anymore. Where were all the non-white students when these "White Riots" took place? Did they pass up on the opportunity of drunken mayhem to go study in the library or...goto...WORK? I happened to come across this picture and after some research came across a startling discovery: Take a good look at this picture and the caption. Typical race baiting bullshit meant to rile the African Community and their supporters during times like these: Now look at this picture....the original picture....the same exact picture as the one above...yet there is one important difference. Can you find it? Well what do you know? And if you think that one was photoshopped...then take a good look at this picture: Hey guess what? not ALL the "White Rioters" are actually WHITE!!

White Protester Comparison MYTH (perpetuated by race baiters)

By: jironde on: 6:36 PM
A committed anti-drugs activist has today attempted to prove that people could overdose from cannabis only to fail spectacularly when he just ate some chocolate before falling asleep laughing. 30-year-old Graham Yeorvil has been campaigning against the dangers of cannabis ever since he saw the film Cheech & Chong as a child and became traumatised by Chong's face, the psychedelic colours and stoner comedy tropes. "I'm committed to a world where people aren't all burning the tips of their fingers with hash resin and watching Countdown in a relaxed stupor that doesn't harm anyone," he raged. "Did you know that four thirds of people who smoke cannabis can't do even the most rudimentary of maths?" Witnesses claim that Graham wanted to disprove the scientific fact that it is impossible to overdose on cannabis by smoking as much as he could to induce overdose before a team of medical professionals would administer the life saving care he would need. "I'm willing to risk becoming slightly tired and possible brain warping in order to prove the dangers of this horrible disgusting drug," said Graham moments before he began dosing himself with cannabis. "I'll smoke as much hash-weed sticks as it takes until my heart stops then no more children will go needlessly relaxed or eat sandwiches because of this filthy poison." Reports from the overdose attempt claim that it became obvious that Graham had failed to die from cannabis consumption when after two sliffs he found himself pigging out on chocolate and watching Adam Sandler movies and laughing. "He smoked about an eight throughout the morning, watched two movies before playing some videogames," claimed a member of the medical team brought in to make sure Graham didn't harm himself. "He's fallen asleep now after eating a whole tub of Ben & Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew ." "There was a fit of giggles at about 12.30 that caused him to roll off the couch and almost hit his head," concluded the paramedic. "Another time he mildly burned his fingertips when taking a pizza out of the oven but came no closer to dying, unfortunately for him. He's going to be so disappointed that he smoked hash and woke up alive." source - http://ift.tt/1bdv5tl

Anti-Drugs Activist Tries To Overdose On Cannabis But Just Winds Up Giggling And Eating Chocolate

By: jironde on: 6:36 PM
As I was browsing through some old files, I came across some essays that I wrote during my time in the seminary. While reading these essays, I marvelled at what a God-fearing man I once was. I dedicate the following essay to fellow liveleaker Yogsoggoth - and of course: to my beautiful Syrian darling. One of the most anguished moments in your life arrives when you realise that you fall way too short of your ideals. According to the existentialists, we are overtaken be anguish precisely because we fail to live up to our ideals. And the fact that you do feel this anguish, is a firm indication that inside you there is an ardent desire for excellence. Because if you do not feel this anguish, you are at peace with your shortcomings; you are happy being a mediocrity. It would be wrong to assume that this anguish is a modern phenomenon or a concoction of the existentialist philosophers. Even the mystics speak of anguish. Consider the following words of Johannes Tauler: "Of all those who do not let themselves be caught by this pursuit and this anguish , none ever turns out well , they remain what they are , they do not enter into themselves, and consequently they know nothing of what is taking place in them ." There are two kinds of anguish: (i) The anguish of acedia which often terminates in the "shipwreck euphoria" of which Julius Evola speaks, and (ii) the anguish of purgation. (i) Acedia is a much misunderstood vice. According to our contemporaries, acedia denotes laziness. Consequently, since laziness is a vice, activism must be a virtue. This is of course a gross simplification, which ends up perverting matters. According to the scholastics, acedia is a kind of sourness or apathy we experience in the face of the effort required in attaining a spiritual good. The acquisition of wisdom requires concentration and a total employment of both your intellect an will. Men who fail in this regard seek multiple diversions, from the pursuit of which activism naturally follows. Hence activism is not a virtue which is the contrary of acedia. Rather, activism is a vice which is consequent upon acedia. And this activism is destined to have its terminus in misery, because all activity which loses sight of the highest end leads to hell. Such mindless activism, say the scholastics, inevitably results in a malicious hatred of anything spiritual, and an insane and despairing joy in the things of this world. (ii) The anguish of purgation is something very different from the anguish of acedia. This is the anguish of losing a lesser good for the sake of a higher good. If we do not feel the pain of losing that lesser good, there cannot at all be a question of loss. When St. Paul states that for Christ he "has suffered the loss of all things," he readily admits that giving up the things of this world for the sake of the Lord caused him a great deal of anguish. According to Aristotle, men who are keen of intellect, are also more susceptible of feeling pain. And this is confirmed by the scriptures, in which it is stated, "in wisdom there is much grief: for he that increaseth knowledge, increaseth sorrow." Yet why would man be willing to undergo such painful trials for the sake of a spiritual reality, the existence of which is questioned by everyone around us? The medieval man who yearned for the abode of the Gods had no difficulty in finding other men who felt the way he did. In the contemporary world this is no longer the case. Speak of the unitive way, speak of merging with the deity to the contemporary man, and expect to have your very sanity questioned. Yet even among the enemies of God, there is a subconscious desire for a kind of excellence which transcends the human condition. When Nietzsche says that "man is something that must be overcome," we bear witness to this subconscious desire for deification. Coming from Nietzsche, this may be no more than an expression of artistic flair and pomposity. But still. Likewise, Evola adopts the following expression of Simmel: "mehr als Leben." For some men mere existence is not enough. For them death is preferable to mere existence. According to the scholastics, the natural desire cannot be in vain, and because the desire for the highest good is natural, the acquistition of such a good is possible. Therefore, it is not in vain to wish for that which transcends the human condition. St. Athanasius, refers to that very same end as Nietzsche and Evola when he states that "He deified men by Himself becoming man". "Being God, He has taken to Him the flesh, and being in the flesh deifies the flesh." "The Word became flesh in order that we, participating in His Spirit, might be deified." But of course, this deification must be merited. And few are they who will be willing "to suffer the loss of all things" for the sake of this highest of all goods. In the Imitation of Christ it is stated there are very few true contemplatives in this world, and St. Bernard states that there are but few men of desire in this world. They are speaking of the kind of man who - to paraphrase a literary character - against all human longing and loving is willing to do what his own natural heart dares not dream of doing. This is the abandonment of the will to Divine Providence. With Christ, such a man should say, "think not that I have come to do my own will, but that of my Father in Heaven." Of course, "to say" is one thing, whereas "to do" is something very different. When a famous preacher of the Renaissance exhorted in words ("to say") that a moral regeneration is necessary, the Florentines flocked around him and applauded his every gesture. But when he set out to realise his dream of a theocracy ("to do") the Florentines ran away in terror, and had him burnt at the stake. The Florentines realised that their preacher was a dangerous man precisely because he did as he said. And that is a rare breed indeed. The true contemplatives or the men of desire are difficult souls. Their internal battles are far more heartfelt than that of those who settle for mediocrity. The mediocre man is, in the words of Evola, is "a natural joiner." He is everything to everyone, and therefore he comes to nothing. The difficult soul, on the other hand, treats of everything, however trivial it may be, with a seriousness befitting the hour of our death. We meet with this man in the world of literature, and on a rare occasion we will bump into him in our real life. According to Arisotle, "men with soft flesh, are well endowed intellectually." This is to say that a man of a keen intellect is necessarily also more impression- able . This does by no means entail any weakness of character. All knowledge begins with sense perception, and those whose sense faculties are more receptive to the impressions of the senses are also more inclined to better understand what is taking place around them. Hence a scholastic commenting the aforementioned words of Aristotle states that, "a good disposition of the human body makes one able to understand well, for, as a result of this, the aforementioned powers are in a better condition." Those who have made an attempt to lead an ascetic life will readily concede the truth of these propositions. Consider someone who leads a celibate life, accompanied by vigils, fasting, and prayer. Such a man stores up an immense amount of energy. Very little of this stored up energy is allotted to physical activities. Instead, all this energy is placed at the disposal of the spirit and intellect. This inevitably intensifies the activity of our spirit. There is no mystery here at all, because we are not discussing grace but human nature. This is exactly what happens in all cases, and anyone who is willing to undergo this ordeal, will experience this firsthand. Consider here a man who has had four of his five senses impaired. The impediment to his four senses will be to the advantage of his remaining sense which is fully intact. Someone who is both mute and blind hears much better than the rest of us, because much more of his energy is put at the disposal of his auditory faculty. He who is keen of intellect is more receptive to sense impression. And this "softness of the flesh", to use Aristotle's phrase, is a dangerous thing indeed, because this is the road by which demons attack us. The demons cannot infect our intellect and will. They can only act on our imagination or attack our body by directly possessing it or by bombarding it with sense impressions. The mystics remind us again and again that the higher we climb on the spiritual ladder which leads to Kingdom of Heaven, the more formidable battle do the demons wage to snatch our soul away and drag it to hell. Every spiritual quest is a gamble. There is no guarantee that you will reach the end. Your soul may well be snatched away at the very last rung of the ladder. What tragedy! Yet it has happened before, and it will go on happenening till the end of time. Many a great scoundrel and mass murderer had a great saint within who was quashed by the devil. And indeed, only great scoundrels are susceptible of sainthood and vice versa: "For certain strong souls , mediocrity is not possible; if they do not give themselves entirely to God on the road to sanctity, they will belong wholly to themselves. They will wish to spend their whole life enjoying their ego; they run the risk of turning away from God and of placing their last end in the satisfaction of their pride or of their concupiscence. In this respect, certain souls somewhat resemble the angels. The angel, says St. Thomas, is either very holy or very wicked; there is no middle course." (Garrigou-Lagrange) To this one may add that neither is there any middle course to the Kingdom of Heaven, because the Eternal Kingdom admits of no mediocrity. And the scriptures testify to this: "So because you are lukewarm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth." The rules of War 2.0 (or 3.0) are murky. Experts and pundits say that cyberwarfare is happening. And it makes sense. But it has been very hard to prove. A new report adds to the body of evidence, charging that the Russian military is waging a sustained cyber campaign against Ukrainian military and law enforcement agencies, and the purpose is to extract a steady stream of classified documents that can aid violence and on-the-ground combat. A Sustained Campaign Targeting Military Lookingglass , a security firm based in Arlington, Va., publishes a report Tuesday documenting a real-life instance of a cyberwar campaign. CEO Chris Coleman says the attacks are persistent, but not sophisticated. "We're not claiming we found some big exploit in the Windows operating system," he says. "We tracked malware that was in emails, and it shows full-scale coordination." Lookingglass says a dedicated group of hackers is getting Ukrainian military, counterintelligence, border patrol and local police to open emails with malicious attachments. Only, they look legit. It's masterful - so far as manipulation goes - because of the "lure documents" that attackers use as bait. Lead researcher Jason Lewis gives an example of a Microsoft Word file, dated Jan. 15, 2015. Written in Ukrainian, it's an overview of the situation at the Russia-Ukraine border - apparently authored by Ukraine's State Border Guard Service. The words "not for distribution" are written on it. "That document appears to be something that was on a Ukrainian military computer," Lewis says. Hackers stole the document, then sent it to another Ukrainian security agency - with the malware hidden inside. "So the idea being that someone would see: 'Oh, this is news for today. Let me go and take a look and open it.' " The malware would then infect their computer, so that the hackers could extract more classified intelligence: on the numbers of Ukrainian troops in reconnaissance battalions, the equipment they use and the rebel leaders they want. This so-called spear-phishing attack is the same kind that got Sony Pictures . Lewis, who used to work at the National Security Agency, says military officers are human, too. "You probably have folks that don't know better and will open documents without thinking twice," he says. Lookingglass says the attacks that focused on collecting combat intel took off in late April 2014, right after Ukraine's acting president declared a military operation against pro-Russian separatists. The firm is tracking the activity using virtual private servers set up in Ukraine, which enable them to get scans of different attacks. Researchers also collect malware samples from Virus Total , a free online service where hackers and researchers can submit documents to test whether they'll pass or fail antivirus scans. Virus Total saves documents scanned, thereby creating a huge repository that anyone can sift through. Lookingglass did advanced queries, using fields including date and location, to pull additional samples of malware that targeted Ukrainian military and law enforcement. A Window Into The Rules In cyberattacks, it's hard to know exactly who the hacker is. Lookingglass names the Russian security service (what used to be called the KGB). And after Ukraine declared the same last September, researcher Jason Lewis says, the attackers tweaked their malicious software to slip under the radar again: "They said, 'Oh, we've been discovered. We'll change to this new remote access tool.' " Researchers also found that when both sides negotiated a cease-fire last June, the cyberattacks stopped for that same period as well. "That is incredibly interesting," says Fred Cate, a cybersecurity expert and professor at Indiana University Maurer School of Law. "It's like the adversaries are actually thinking of themselves as attacking." It looks like the hackers see themselves as part of the battlefield, he says, "and so they stop those attacks when a cease-fire's in place - as opposed to thinking of themselves as just intelligence gathering, which usually continues even during a ceasefire." This research is among the few documented examples of cyberwarfare. While it doesn't pinpoint specific stolen data that reconfigured a specific battlefield, it does reveal the edge of a new weapon against enemies. "If you can substitute fake instructions, if you can get them to do the wrong thing, if you can get them to send the troops where you want them sent," Cate says, "this could dramatically alter the way in which we think about warfare." It also raises the question of when hacking constitutes an act of war. It's an issue that NATO is trying to address through the Tallinn Manual , a multilateral process initiated after the cyberattacks that crippled Estonia , following that country's spat with Russia over the removal of a war memorial. Circumstantial Evidence The Russian Embassy did not respond to NPR's request for comment. Computer scientist Stefan Savage at the University of California, San Diego says in many cyber investigations, like this one, the evidence is circumstantial. Researchers have the digital version of tire tracks and gun casings - not DNA and fingerprints. But from a technical standpoint, he says, entities who are not Russian could have carried it out. "The question has to be 'Who else would have the motivation to do it?' because this a significant piece of work. It's effort." Lookingglass says neither country is its client, and it was not able to investigate whether Ukraine is hacking Russia as well. Source: http://ift.tt/1dnHTiF

This is my first upload to LiveLeak. Not something I recorded myself but I didn't want to keep this from you guys. Normally my hometown is a pretty nice place to be, but not last Sunday. The last few months were quite hard for the most Twente fans. Many of them demanding the manager to leave, but the club does not have the money to do so. As it is nearly bankrupt. Therefor there were accusations of bad management and people were planning actions against the club. Meaning that last Sunday there was a lot of banners with nasty quotes from the supporters. The game against AZ was lost with 0 - 2. After the game some of those so-called 'fans' couldn't hold their emotions and clashed with the police.

To this day, there are some Greeks who believe in the myth that they are an 'ethnically pure race'. The contemporary self-image of Greeks is built upon a series of myths . The myth of continuity, the myth of the racial and cultural superiority of our ancestors, 'and thanks to continuity, our own'. The myth of being special, the myth of racial and religious purity and the myth of the genius of the 'Greek race'. The existence of these myths provokes certain predictable reactions. Thus, a typical compatriot while proud to be Greek, will abuse and censure his countrymen at the slightest provocation. This naturally, because they fail to live up to the expectations and the demands created by the myths. Greece, over the years, has taken extraordinary measures to erase what is real in favour of something artificially manufactured. 'Greekness' or 'Hellenism', as the Greeks like to call it, is a 19th century invention modeled after a culture and a race of people that ceased to exist more than two millennia ago. Greece has destroyed the real cultures, traditions and languages of its indigenous people living on its soil in favour of this artificial creation it calls Hellenism. Worse, today Greece not only denies the existence of its non-Greek roots but it insists that no indigenous races such as Albanians, Macedonians, Vlahs, Turks, Roma ever existed in Greece. Greece has not only forsaken its indigenous cultures but is consistently punishing all those who want to return to them. The so-called 'Greek Nationality/Ethos' was artificially created during the 19th century by the Great Powers in order to break up the Ottoman Empire and to stop the expansion of Pan Slavism. Britain's fear of Russia entering Mediterranean waters and contaminating its 'backyard garden' motivated British officials to do whatever was necessary to stop the 'Slav proliferation'. After Greece was created it needed people 'Greeks' to maintain and enlarge itself. These people came from the territories it occupied during its period of expansion. One need only ask, 'How come there are Macedonians, Albanians, Vlahs, Turks, Roma living in the Republic of Macedonia and none of these ethnicities live in Greek occupied Macedonia?' It is well known that these ethnicities existed in all of Macedonia during Ottoman rule before geographic/ethnographic Macedonia was occupied and partitioned in 1912/1913. In fact there are Greek statistics compiled prior to 1912 that attest to these facts. Yet in 1928 Greece declared itself 'ethnically pure' with only 'pure Greeks' living in Greece. Naturally the burning question is 'what happened to the other ethnicities that lived in Macedonia after it was occupied by Greece in 1912?' Did they simply vanish? Of course they did not! They were Hellenized! They were 'made' into Greeks! In her infatuation with the glory of her 'false' past, Greece became ashamed of her 'real self' and buried her true present. Greece did not want a bunch of ignorant Slavs, Albanians, Vlahs, Turks, Roma for citizens. It preferred the 'mythical' types like Pericles, Leonidas and Temistocles or descendants thereof. This was all done with encouragement from her benefactors, the Great Powers. In fact, outside of some Greeks who have been labeled traitors, no one questioned Greece's motives for doing this. Greece's population makeup from 1829 to 1928. It is possible to find Albanian, Vlach, Turk, Macedonian and Roma . 1829 - Greece created for the first time, 'mostly Arvanites', Less then 1.000.000 1830, 1911 - Epirus and Thessaly Annexed, 'Vlachs and Albanians', 1.600.000 1912, 1913 - 51% of ethnographic Macedonia Annexed, 'Macedonians', 2.500.000 1920, 1928 - Importation of Christian Turks from Asia Minor, 'Turks', 1.100.000 In 1928, Greece registered 6.200.000 people after which it declared itself homogenous consisting of 100% 'pure Greeks' with a very small Muslim but ethnically Greek population. In the 1920's Greece imported 1.1 million Christian Turks from Asia Minor, claiming that they were descendants of the 'ancient Greeks'. At the time, not one of them spoke Greek or identified themselves with the Greeks. How could they have? The 'Greek nation' never existed before 1829. The crux of the problem unfortunately is that while the Greeks continue to believe in their mythical past, they interfere with reality. Falsely believing that they are all Greeks, descendants from an ancient people, they refuse to acknowledge the reality that Macedonians do exist and live on their territory. Further, to prevent the discovery of their falsehood, they even interfere in the affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, an independent and Sovereign State. . 1. Universal Healthcare Is Great for Free Enterprise and Great for Small BusinessesThe modern-day Republican Party would have us believe that those who promote universal healthcare are anti-free enterprise or hostile to small businesses. But truth be told, universal healthcare is great for entrepreneurs, small businesses and the self-employed in France, Germany and other developed countries where healthcare is considered a right. The U.S.' troubled healthcare system has a long history of punishing entrepreneurs with sky-high premiums when they start their own businesses. Prior to the Affordable Care Act of 2010, a.k.a. Obamacare, many small business owners couldn't even obtain individual health insurance plans if they had a preexisting condition such as heart disease or diabetes-and even with the ACA's reforms, the high cost of health insurance is still daunting to small business owners. But many Americans fail to realize that healthcare reform is not only a humanitarian issue, it is also vitally important to small businesses and the self-employed. In 2009, the Center for Economic and Policy Research published a study on small businesses around the world and found that "by every measure of small-business employment, the United States has among the world's smallest small-business sectors ." People in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Belgium and other European countries are more likely to be self-employed-and the study concluded that universal healthcare is a key factor. According to CEPR's study, "High healthcare costs discourage small business formation since start-ups in other countries can tap into government-funded healthcare systems." http://ift.tt/1OQBIz8

White Teachers Need Not ApplyWhite Teachers Need Not ApplyBy John It seems as though white teachers do not make the grade according to Boston School officials and Diane Coard, organizer of Boston School's fourth annual diversity recruitment fair. "Our numbers of teachers of color, specifically black males are low," said Coard. What we are looking for are "more role models for our students." Boston School officials hoped that the diversity recruitment fair would yield at least a hundred teaching candidates. School officials estimate that 30 to 35 percent of the city's teachers are minorities, while 70 percent of Boston's school population is black or Hispanic. School officials went on to say that studies have shown that "minority" students perform better when taught by people who share their ethnic background. This story has left me with a few questions: 1. Are they just looking for black males? 2. Are they looking for qualified teachers or role models? 3. Are they implying that these minority students are incapable of being taught by qualified White teachers? Maybe these "minority students" perform better because these "black male / role models" are just giving them passing grades so everything looks good on paper for the Massachusetts Board of Education! Any way you look at it, White teachers fail to make the grade with the Boston School department, and White students will have highly trained black male / role models providing them with the very finest education that their minority classmates can manage to comprehend. However, in answering my own questions, I have one answer to all three of them....segregated schools. I have no doubt that qualified white teachers are perfectly capable of imparting knowledge to minority students - knowledge that could help them live better lives and build stronger communities. White people have been trying to do that for years and as long as white people retained their authority - black communities, while not perfect, were a far cry from what they are today. And black families for the most part stayed intact. It is also true that the dumbing down of education is a direct response to the educators dilemma of attempting to lift the grades of non-white students - but almost across the board it can't be done. The only way to have an equal outcome between white students (and we honestly must include Asians in this equation) and all other minority groups is to lower the grades of white and Asian students. In addition, there is nothing wrong with minority children having role models of their own race. Good teachers should be good role models. I have a hard time, though with the notion that white students are not allowed to have white role models - unless of course leftist thinking activists are hand picked and handed to white children to edify - INSANE! The only solution is segregated schools. This may be viewed as mean and hateful to some - but its backed by good science and it has worked in the past and can work again. It provides practical benefits to all involved parties. Unfortunately, those with a global agenda of domination don't want peace and prosperity for any of the races - they want to use us all as pawns in their game. The sooner people realize this the better off we'll all be and all of us can train up our children to the best of their ability - for strong families, strong communities, and strong nations!

Observing human heart muscle cells normally means opening someone's chest, but no longer. Now they can be observed and studied outside the heart with a microscope, and scientists at the University of California Berkeley working with bio-engineers have for the first time developed a system that allows human heart cells to function outside the body. "It is the first demonstration of an actual human heart which is based in a system that is mimicking the physiology as close as possible," says post-doctoral fellow and researcher Anurag Mathur. Californian scientists call the device a heart-on-a-chip. The system is comprised of cell layers derived from human adult stem cells, which can be converted into many different types of tissue. These cells are housed on a small slab of silicon. To keep the cells beating, micro-fluidic channels thinner than a human hair nurture the cells and also provide a way to deliver drugs to them for testing. "These are mock blood vessels, similar to blood vessels. The fluid that we are interested in comes across this tissue and then it bathes it with the drug. We give it caffeine, the heart-on-a-chip beats and accelerates its heart rate. We give it adrenaline and it accelerates its heart rate," says Professor of Bioengineering and Material Science Kevin Healy. Scientists believe that by mimicking human physiology, the device could provide a new and powerful tool for drug development. Currently, pharmaceutical companies spend billions testing new drugs on animal models that more often than not fail in predicting if new drugs are toxic to humans. The heart chip could revolutionize drug screening by providing a tool that can be modified to model human diseases using human cells to test new drugs. The research is still in its infancy, but Healy says its potential is enormous.

Following a possible tactical retreat from the Nassib Crossing into Jordan, the Syrian Army captured the main road from Daraa to Suwayda and have cut off Al-Nusra insurgents from Jordan intent on attacking Damascus. Insurgents now trapped in the Southern part of Daraa are subject to multipule Dive Bombing Planes while those above the cut off point have no chance of reinforcements or supplies. Many Vehicles have been destroyed and hundreds of demoralized Rodents have been illuminated. Large American Bombers have been seen flying over the area. If the Insurgents fail to re-enter Jordan they will have no other option for escape other than to try and pass by two over looking Mountains near the Daraa Border crossing into the West where Syrian forces are enjoying easy Artillery and Sniper shots at passing traffic. The taking of this main road between Daraa and Suwayda has also made it far easier for the Army to resupply and virtually impossible for Al-Nusra and all other Al-Quada affiliates to remain in the Province. Please refer to the Wiki map for New Territories gained Daily. http://ift.tt/1PhujuJ See Also http://ift.tt/1K1f9Xw http://ift.tt/1PhujuN Damascus, SANA - The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces said that army units on Monday morning established full control over the towns of Msaika al-Sharqia, Msaika al-Gharbia, al-Khawabi, Ashnan and al-Dallafa, and cordoned off the towns of Mlaihet al-Atash and Busr al-Harir in the countryside of Daraa province as part of a special operation which resulted in killing a large number of terrorists in the aforementioned areas. In a statement, the General Command said that this achievement clears and secures the vital route between Daraa and Sweida province, and at the same time cuts off terrorist organizations' supply lines as it closes off the crossing point of al-Lajjat which terrorists had been using to smuggle mercenaries, weapons, and ammo from Jordan to the Badiye desert and to the Easter Ghouta area in Damascus Countryside. The General Command said this success is a severe blow to terrorist organizations and will pave the way towards eliminating terrorist hotspots in the area, vowing to continue pursuing terrorists across the country until they are eliminated completely.

By: jironde on: 10:48 PM
Wearing business suits set off with sneakers, the American executives trailed a young guide along the narrow sidewalks of the capital of Iran, once branded by the United States as part of the "Axis of Evil." Their destination was one of Tehran's most luxurious restaurants, where Iranian officials and business consultants greeted the visitors with open arms and the Pharrell Williams song "Happy" blasted from the sound system. "Everybody loves us here," said Ned Lamont, a digital services entrepreneur and former politician, holding a glass of carrot juice offered by one of his hosts. Just as the Obama administration and Congress were wrangling over details of a nuclear agreement with Iran last week, the group of 24 executives were touring the country on a fact-finding mission. Of course, the organizers rushed to explain, this was by no means a business delegation. "We are tourists," said Dick Simon, a co-founder of the Young Presidents' Organization, a network of business executives. "But naturally many in our company have the potential of getting involved here, as they lead some very significant businesses," he said, referring to his fellow traveler. American companies are barred from doing business in Iran, which remains under a regimen of sanctions aimed at pressuring the country to curtail its nuclear program. The sanctions, which cover financial transactions as well as a host of industries like petroleum and shipping, have put a stranglehold on the Iranian economy, which is struggling with inflation and shortages of food and consumer goods. With the United States and Iran currently negotiating a nuclear deal under which those sanctions would eventually be lifted, some American companies are now hoping for new business opportunities in a country that has long been off limits. The visit to Iran by the American group, which included venture capitalists and business executives from a range of industries, including real estate, health care and insurance, was organized by individual members of the Young Presidents' Organization. Last week's trip was the group's third to the Islamic republic. "There was a waiting list. The prospect of a changing Iran is very interesting," Mr. Simon said. At the function Thursday night, the delegates sat at tables decorated with cards marked with topics of conversation: "Real Estate," "Diplomacy," "Luxury" and "ICT," for information and communications technology. The women in the group wore head scarves, as is obligatory in Iran. "I should be at 'ICT,' I think," said Mr. Lamont, whose Connecticut-based company provides video and data services to college campuses, "but I think the 'Diplomacy' table will be more interesting for now." Mr. Lamont and the others in the group arrived in Tehran last week after touring ancient sites near Shiraz, a city in the south, under the watchful eyes of government minders. "They don't want us to get in any sorts of trouble, or have an incident, but we have been mostly free to go around," said Mr. Lamont, who like other members of the group was bubbling with enthusiasm over the hospitality of their Iranian hosts. In the Shiite holy city of Qum, the group sat down with a reform-minded ayatollah who told them that Iran was on the verge of major change. "I asked, what about the 'Death to America' slogan?" Mr. Lamont said, referring to the phrase that appears on many banners across the country and has long been shouted at public demonstrations. But the cleric responded that the slogan was from a different era. "He told us, 'This is the new Iran,' " Mr. Lamont said. "Such messages are hopeful and different." At the restaurant on Thursday, Cyrus Razzaghi, a prominent Iranian business consultant, and other speakers extolled the potential of the Iranian economy for adventurous American investors. "In the end these are not normal tourists of course, they are wealthy, powerful and influential Americans," Mr. Razzaghi said. "Besides from giving them a taste of Iranian culture, I felt they would also be interested in Iran's huge market." Iran's deputy minister of telecommunications, Nasrollah Jahangard, peppered the audience with statistics, saying Iran was one of the most connected countries in the region. "The number of smartphones is expected to be doubled to 40 million on a population of nearly 80 million," he said. "We have 3G running and 4G networks under development; we are moving forward fast," Mr. Jahangard said in English. His words seemed to pique the interest of some of the executives. Christopher Schroeder, a venture capitalist, said he saw some promise in the country's technology sector. "I have met with young women who are running Iran's versions of Amazon and Groupon. They could really get somewhere in the future." However, it was clear from the questions about the economy and the influence of hard-liners that many obstacles remain. http://ift.tt/1IBIBT4 http://ift.tt/1IBIBT4

A former intelligence officer for the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was the mastermind behind Islamic State's takeover of northern Syria, according to a report by Der Spiegel that is based on documents uncovered by the German magazine. Spiegel, in a lengthy story published at the weekend and entitled "Secret Files Reveal the Structure of Islamic State", says it gained access to 31 pages of handwritten charts, lists and schedules which amount to a blueprint for the establishment of a caliphate in Syria. The documents were the work of a man identified by the magazine as Samir Abd Muhammad al-Khlifawi, a former colonel in the intelligence service of Saddam Hussein's air defense force, who went by the pseudonym Haji Bakr. Spiegel says the files suggest that the takeover of northern Syria was part of a meticulous plan overseen by Haji Bakr using techniques -- including surveillance, espionage, murder and kidnapping -- honed in the security apparatus of Saddam Hussein. The Iraqi national was reportedly killed in a firefight with Syrian rebels in January 2014, but not before he had helped secure swathes of Syria, which in turn strengthened Islamic State's position in neighboring Iraq. "What Bakr put on paper, page by page, with carefully outlined boxes for individual responsibilities, was nothing less than a blueprint for a takeover," the story by Spiegel reporter Christoph Reuter says. "It was not a manifesto of faith, but a technically precise plan for an 'Islamic Intelligence State' -- a caliphate run by an organization that resembled East Germany's notorious Stasi domestic intelligence agency." The story describes Bakr as being "bitter and unemployed" after U.S. authorities in Iraq disbanded the army by decree in 2003. Between 2006 to 2008 he was reportedly in U.S. detention facilities, including Abu Ghraib prison. In 2010 however, it was Bakr and a small group of former Iraqi intelligence officers who made Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi the official leader of Islamic State, with the goal of giving the group a "religious face", the story says. Two years later, the magazine says, Bakr traveled to northern Syria to oversee his takeover plan, choosing to launch it with a collection of foreign fighters that included novice militants from Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Europe alongside battle-tested Chechens and Uzbeks. Iraqi journalist Hisham al-Hashimi, whose cousin served with Bakr, describes the former officer as a nationalist rather than an Islamist. The story argues that the secret to Islamic State's success lies in its combination of opposites - the fanatical beliefs of one group and the strategic calculations of another, led by Bakr. Spiegel said it had obtained the papers after lengthy negotiations with rebels in the Syrian city of Aleppo, who had seized them when Islamic State was forced to abandon its headquarters there in early 2014. http://ift.tt/1JW73zA

Doctors will be given incentive payments so that parents stick to their children's vaccination schedule, and the one religious exemption to vaccinations will end, as part of a push by the federal government to boost the immunisation rate. Social services minister Scott Morrison on Sunday announced that the only religious group currently able to claim religious exemptions for vaccinations, Christian Scientists, will no longer be able to do so. Morrison said the exemption, in place since 1998, "is no longer current or necessary and will therefore be removed". "Having resolved this outstanding matter, the government will not be receiving nor authorising any further vaccination exemption applications from religious organisations," he said. Families will still be able to claim exemptions to vaccinations on medical grounds. "This will remain the sole ground for exemption under the Coalition government," Morrison said. Calls to representatives of Christian Science were not returned. The tightening of the rules around exemptions is part of the government's $26m package on boosting immunisation rates, which was due to be announced in detail on Sunday. The package will include a public awareness campaign to sell the benefits of vaccinations to parents, the incentive payments for medical providers, and improved public vaccination records. News Ltd reports that the current $6 incentive payment offered to medical professionals, which are designed to encourage GPs to contact families to remind them that their children are due for jabs, will be doubled to $12. On Monday, the government announced that it would tighten up welfare eligibility for parents who fail to immunise their children. Families could lose out on the childcare benefit and rebate, and the Family Tax Benefit part A supplement. "I believe most parents have genuine concerns about those who deliberately choose not to vaccinate their children and put the wider community at risk," the health minister, Sussan Ley, said. "However, it's important parents also understand complacency presents as a much of a threat to immunisation rates and the safety of our children as conscientious objections do." A national immunisation register is reportedly also being proposed to keep track of vaccines given through school-based programs. http://ift.tt/1OuDKog

The Taurus pistol model 24/7 it's the standard of all police departments in Brazil. This incredible video shows a very dangerous malfunction in the gun, what make it fire with no pull in the trigger, even if it locked. Whats the point of having a safety if it shoots this easily while loaded?

Taurus have a faulty safety, can be fired just by shaking it!

It has been said that it is better to try and fail than to live with the doubt of what might have been. But obviously, some things should not be tried when one can pretty much anticipate the outcome. For example, it would be foolish, if not the height of folly, to jump into a pool without first checking it for water. I think the young man in the video was over confident...

***Warning: Do Not Read If You Can't Take a Joke*** Are you tired of getting upset over the ignorant, racist rhetoric of the Tea Party radicals? Of course, the best thing to do is to ignore them, but that's no fun! Why not embrace the American way and get even? Following are ten fail-safe tips on how to piss off the misspelled sign-toting, politician-interrupting, teabagging crazies and certain Rand Paul acolytes, whose battle cry is, "The louder you are, the gooder you are!" (Note: These tips do not apply to the normal three-percent of the Tea Party members, whose goal is to bring our government's spending under control. The tips only work with the nut jobs.) First, in regards to their insane "birther" claims, get their attention and hit them where it hurts. Require that every customer produce a birth certificate before eating at Cracker Barrel. Play with their emotions. Remind them that their President is a black man with a scary name. Then, watch the relief on their faces when you add, "Hey, at least he's not a woman." Raise their blood pressure to a dangerous level by crashing a Tea Party rally, grabbing a bullhorn and yelling "Jesus was a socialist!" Then run like hell before they catch you. Actually, with this group, you can do a quick walk and still get away. Create off-the-wall programs like "Guns for Cinnabons" where they can trade in their firearms for warm, gooey pastries. It'll be like "Sophie's Choice" -- but with frosting. Sarah Palin loves the teabaggers, and the teabaggers love Sarah. Recruit the former governor and place her in charge of building a Tea Party monument, only to have her quit halfway through. Ask them if they can tell you where to find a copy of the Constitution en Espa~nol. Their eyes will roll back in their cabezas. Replace all photos of Rand Paul with RuPaul -- you know, someone less cartoonish. Get them wasted by starting a Crazy Teabagger Drinking Game. Rules: Drink one shot every time a Tea Party sign is misspelled or upside-down; down two shots when you see arm flap; and kill the bottle if someone quotes the New Testament with a mouthful of Skoal Wintergreen. Like the old Folgers coffee commercial, secretly replace Tea Party speeches by former Minnesota representative Michele Bachmann with recordings of fingernails on a chalkboard during a farting contest and see if they can tell the difference. If you find yourself in an adjacent bathroom stall, announce loudly, "Please rise for our National Anthem." Follow up by humming the "Star-Spangled Banner." It's messy, but highly entertaining. And it's a great way to show the crazies that payback's a bitch. -Beth Armogida, Comedy TV writer

S-300 missile fail

By: jironde on: 9:08 AM
>> The popular narrative surrounding the conflict between the West and Iran has always been one of a dangerous rogue state bent on obtaining nuclear weapons before triggering a nuclear-fueled Armageddon aimed at Israel. Underneath this elementary propaganda, lies a more complex truth underpinning a proxy conflict between East and West. Just as had been the case during World War I and II, the strategic position, resources, and population of Iran constitute a necessary prerequisite to first overcome before containing and eventually overrunning the political order in Moscow. This time around, in addition to Moscow, the Western axis also seeks to eventually encircle and overrun Beijing as well. Unlike during the World Wars, vast wars of attrition and mechanized invasions are not a possibility today. Instead, a concerted campaign of proxy wars, covert political subversion, sanctions, and other non-military instruments of power are being employed in what is for all intents and purposes a global conflict. Increasingly defining the fronts of this conflict, in addition to political and economic alliances, is the presence of "missile walls," or national missile defense programs being erected by both East and West. Where these missile walls end, is generally where the West's overt military aggression begins. In Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, where such missiles systems are absent, the West has or is bombing these nations with absolute impunity. The United Nations, in theory, should have prevented armed aggression against Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, but has categorically failed to do so. In nations possessing formidable missile defenses, direct Western aggression has become more or less unthinkable, leaving less efficient proxy wars and political subversion to do the job. The presence of missile defense systems capable of checking Western military aggression may be what is needed to establish both a balance of power globally, and the global stability the UN has promised but has so far failed to deliver. Iran, the Last Watchtower In places like Iran where proxy wars cannot easily be waged, and foreign-backed political subversion has been checked, the West has for years planned military options to achieve regime change in Tehran. Encapsulated in the Brookings Institution's "Which Path to Persia?" report , these options include the use of diplomatic negotiations, particularly in regards to Iran's civil nuclear program, as a means to justify military strikes on Iran's nuclear research facilities. The strikes will surely not lead to regime change in and of themselves, but Western policymakers hope the attacks will provoke an Iranian retaliation the West could then use to expand military operations to include regime change. Written in 2009, "Which Path to Persia?" includes multiple scenarios that have now demonstrably been tried, and have failed. Remaining is the use of positive nuclear talks initiated by the United States in what is meant to appear as an act of good faith toward Iran. Israel is tasked with unilaterally attacking Iran's nuclear facilities, claiming America's "betrayal" left them with no other choice . Again, in hopes that Iran retaliates, or in the wake of a false flag attack meant to appear as an Iranian retaliation, the US would step in to assist Israel. In other words, the nuclear deal is a canard, with the West not only having no intention of honoring it, but planning to use them as justification first for an attack on their nuclear facilities, followed by a joint coalition aimed at removing the Iranian government by force. What "Which Path to Persia?" may not have counted on, was, however, Russia's growing influence in the ongoing conflict and its ability to exploit the window of opportunity opened briefly by the West's disingenuous "good will" it has shown Tehran with its alleged "rapprochement." The West claiming that it is satisfied with Iran's terms and commitment to the nuclear deal, has pushed it forward for formal signing in upcoming months. Predictably, while this satisfaction should in theory lead to the lifting of sanctions, the West has made no gesture of good will to do so yet. Russia for its part has begun lifting sanctions. This includes an oil-for-goods deal it has established with Iran, as well as delivery of several S300 anti-air missile systems. The missiles in particular, left undelivered for 5 years, may significantly complicate any attempts by the West to betray Iran in the signing and honoring of the current nuclear deal. With the procurement and effective deployment of S300 missile systems, Iran will find itself behind a "missile wall" that will drastically raise the stakes for an already potentially risky act of military aggression against Tehran by either Israel, the US, or both - or Saudi Arabia who has recently begun unilaterally bombing its neighbor Yemen. The Hand-Wringing Begins In the wake of Russia's decision to deliver the S300 systems, German Chancellor Angela Merkel pleaded that the sanctions be lifted "as cohesively as possible." In other words, at the same time, and only when the West says so. One must wonder, if the West was truly committed to rapprochement with Iran, then why hasn't it, as an act of good faith, lifted at least some sanctions to relieve the socioeconomic punishment it has been inflicting on the Iranian people for years? One must also wonder why the West has reacted negatively to Russia's own lifting of sanctions, as well as the delivery of a purely defensive weapon system. The West, one might suspect, would only berate Russia for delivering a defensive system to Iran, if the West planned treachery all along. Just as the US did with Iraq, Syria, and Libya, with various phases of rapprochement with each respective nation achieved before the US either annihilated them or attempted to do so, these is every reason to believe it will likewise betray Iran. The negative response by the West regarding the delivery of the S300 missile systems also rings particularly hypocritical, since the West is well on its way to erecting its own "missile wall" around both Russia and China. Assurances by the West that neither Russia nor China have anything to fear by these purely "defensive" missile systems is now being reciprocated by Moscow in regards to Iran's now augmented missile defense capabilities. How Strong is the Wall? The S300 is, according to various sources including the US-based International Assessment and Strategy Center (IASC), one of the most formidable missile defense systems being fielded. According to one IASC report titled, "Almaz S-300 - China's "Offensive" Air Defense," it states: The S-300 SAM systems remain one of the most lethal, if not the most lethal, all altitude area defence SAM systems in service, with a range of more capable derivatives entering service in Russia, or in development. The report points out that the missile systems not only defend a nation's airspace, but could deny neighboring air forces the ability to defend their own airspace. This might explain why NATO, led by the US, has been erecting missile networks around Russia and China for years. However, there are no known instances of an S300 being fired in actual combat. The deterrence the S300 poses is only as good as the forces employing the system and the actual capabilities of the missiles themselves. It is known that NATO has already conducted exercises in Europe focusing specifically on circumventing Russian-made air defense systems. One such exercise conducted in 2005 called "Trial Hammer" involved what is called 'Suppression of Enemy Air Defense' (SEAD). Such exercises may already be working on ways to circumvent or neutralize systems like the S300. However, the risk is, should Israel or the US launch an attack on Iran once the S300s are in place and significant numbers of aircraft are lost, not only will the operation fail and an expensive and humiliating blow be dealt to the forces involved, but the veil of invincibility of Western military might, especially its airpower, will be lost forever triggering a cascade of rebellion across the "international order" the West has created primarily under the threat of military force. Additionally, should Iran down a significant number of aircraft involved in any unilateral act of military aggression against its territory, it will have fulfilled a proportional "retaliation," negating the need to respond further, and making a false flag attempted in Iran's name appear all the more obvious. The West would have a failed operationally, strategically, and geopolitically. Because of this, perhaps, regardless of the true capabilities of the S300, the risk will be too great to attempt this last gamble left to Western policymakers attempting to stop Iran's establishment as a permanent regional power, for all intents and purposes immune to Western military aggression. As suggested by other analysts , this may not remove altogether the threat of US designs against Russia via Iran. If forced to accept normal relations with Iran, and by actually removing sanctions, Iranian hydrocarbons would begin flooding the market and dropping prices Russia has long benefited from and depended on. Whether that option appeals to Western policymakers more than potentially dashing a half century of perceived military invincibility against Iran's missile defense systems remains to be seen.
