Norwich, UK - Police have arrested six men in Thetford in connection with an armed jewellery robbery in Norwich this morning. Officers were called to reports of a robbery at a jewellers in London Street shortly after 10.50am. There is understood to have been a chase on the A11. Six men were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery a short time later just off the A11 near Thetford. They were a 14-year-old from the Norwich area and three men in their 20s, a 17 -year-old and an 18-year-old all from the London area. They are to be questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre this afternoon. Norfolk Police said they had had 40 999 calls from witnesses which led to the arrest only an hour after the first call. Detective Inspector Richard Graveling said: "I'd like to thank the public for their assistance. The prompt calls we received from those who witnessed the incident meant we were able to dispatch officers to the scene immediately and quickly obtain descriptions of the suspects which ultimately led to their swift arrest. "Fortunately no one was injured during the incident although staff have understandably been left shaken." However, the police would still like to hear from witnesses who should contact Norwich CID on 101 or call Crrimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
