On 6 April 2016, the Dutch electoracte will go to the polls to vote in a referendum on the EU's Association Agreement with Ukraine. But what is the referendum about and why is the Transnational Institute campaigning for a No vote? Here we explain why the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement will only benefit a number of Ukraine's elite at a cost to the majority. No to a trade deal for the 1% The projected economic and social costs of the Association Agreement for Ukrainians o Enriches an oligarchic economy where large sectors of the economy's wealth are siphoned off into offshore trusts o Contributes to deindustrialising Ukraine, because its industrial producers will struggle to meet EU standards and lack sufficient capital and technology to compete with EU multinationals o Reinforces a Ukrainian economy based on agro-exports and raw commodities, with less value-added benefits for the population o Harms Ukraine's critical small business sector that constitutes 99.8% of all Ukrainian enterprises and accounts for 67.8% of employment o New jobs created by EU investments are unlikely to compensate for losses by Ukraine's domestic business sector and EU investors will exploit Ukraine's lower and frequently unenforced social and environmental standards o Contribute to the ongoing brain drain as highly educated workers migrate to the EU. Between one third and one quarter of the Ukrainian work force is currently already working abroad There are many reasons to be concerned about an Association Agreement with Ukraine, but this report focuses on one area, which is the impact that it will have on the Ukrainian economy and therefore its people at a particularly delicate political moment in the country's history. We focus on this area as the bulk of the Agreement is made up of a deep and comprehensive trade agreement, even if it is also accompanied with other agreements on foreign and security policy, financial cooperation and so on. In preparing this report, TNI worked closely with Ukrainian researchers based at the Center for Social and Labor Research in Kiev. They have provided the original research for this report as part of a more comprehensive study that was drafted in close collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Brussels. The Center for Social and Labor Research shares with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and TNI with a strong concern for democratic, social and labour rights. Since 2013, the CSLR have been documenting growing levels of state repression of peaceful protests by Ukrainians fighting for social, economic and civil rights. In our collective view, the Association Agreement's core component, the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), is premature and problematic and will only benefit a number of Ukraine's elite at a cost to the majority. The DCFTA demands almost full abolition of tariffs for trade in goods, extensive liberalisation to allow for enhanced market access for European service providers, and enhanced protection for foreign investors and liberalisation of capital flows. What this means is a complete opening up of Ukraine's economy to competition from powerful European multinationals, at a time when Ukraine's domestic economy is in no condition to hold its own. Many key sectors in Ukraine, notably industrial production, are traditionally oriented towards exporting to Russia and the other states of the Eurasian customs union, based on Russian standards of production. These sectors will struggle to reorient themselves towards exporting to the EU because standards differ widely. The economy as a whole suffers from a crisis in innovative development and requires urgent injections of capital to pay for new technologies and to modernise existing equipment. However, domestic prospect for innovative development remain limited because of cuts to research and development budgets. While Ukraine's exports used to mainly comprise of high-tech goods destined for the Russian market, the new orientation towards the EU is already leading to a rise in the export of raw materials and agro- food products. The exports to the EU only partially compensate the loss of exports to the former Soviet states, because of the larger share of lower value added unprocessed goods . Deindustrialisation of the economy looms. The balance of payments is set to worsen, as is Ukraine's gross external debt, which rose from 88% in 2014 to 155% of GDP in 2016. Equally, the Association Agreement is likely to harm the small business sector (SME) that constitutes 99.8% of all Ukrainian enterprises and accounts for 67.8% of employment. This sector, which contains many microenterprises that cater solely to local markets, will struggle to compete with the influx of EU imports. Without access to affordable finance, they will be unable to make the transition to adapt to the rules and regulations of the EU. Here too, a foreign takeover of Ukraine's economy appears imminent. While European companies' increased involvement in the Ukrainian economy will create some jobs, it is likely they will also be based on low wages and low social and environmental standards - that are not only below minimum standards in the EU but also frequently unenforced by the Ukrainian government. The Association Agreement, while talking about promoting core labour standards and endeavouring to improve environmental and labour legislation, at the same time stresses that 'labour standards should not be used for protectionist trade purposes' and that the 'comparative advantage should in no way be called into question'. At the same time, both the closure of industrial enterprises as well as opening up services markets such as infrastructure, energy, transport, postal services, and other public services, will, in the short and mid- term, lead to mass layoffs that will not immediately be compensated by the creation of new jobs elsewhere. Indeed, a whole generation of older and not easily re- trainable workers may be lost, at a high social cost to society. It is important to be aware that per capita income in Ukraine is roughly nine times lower than in Greece. Because of the significant difference in wage levels between Ukraine and the EU member states between one third and one quarter of the Ukrainian work force is currently already working abroad. There are concerns in Ukraine that the Association Agreement will increase the outflow of highly educated workers to the EU. So what looms is a far-reaching foreign takeover of Ukraine's economy, with European trans- and multinational corporations using Ukraine as a cheap production platform for exports back into Europe, while gaining a firm foothold in a potentially interesting future growth market. In conclusion, the Association Agreement will benefit the 1% at the expense of the 99%, enriching a small clique of all-powerful oligarchs and a handful of multinational corporations, at the expense of ordinary people. Huge volumes of Ukraine's wealth are already siphoned off into offshore accounts: offshore capital outflow particularly to Cyprus, is estimated at hundreds of billions of dollars per annum, reaching volumes commensurate with the state budget. The Netherlands issued figures to show that the country is a large investor in Ukraine, with investment flows reaching 5.2 billion euros. However, half (!) of that amount can be traced back to mailbox companies used by one of Ukraine's biggest oligarchs to evade paying taxes at home. Not only will the Association Agreement fail to do anything to address the systemic problems of the Ukrainian economy, plagued by dependence on exports of raw materials, high levels of tax evasion and a massive fall in investment and research, it will negatively impact on many Ukrainians who will see their wages fall and their employment becoming more precarious, while the income divide grows. These effects will be most acutely felt within Ukraine itself, but the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement adds to the cumulative pressures emanating from other controversial trade agreements the EU is concluding around the globe, including with major economic actors such as Canada and the US, that follow an entirely similar logic and have cemented the power of corporations globally. Given this we would advise the Dutch people to vote against the EU - Ukraine Association Agreement in their referendum on 6 April. Neither the EU nor Ukraine needs another neoliberal trade agreement benefiting corporate elites. We need new forms of cooperation that seek to support the building of a socially just and sustainable economy for the benefit of all rather than for a select rich and powerful few. Vote No. FULL report http://ift.tt/1Van4sH

Union Springs, AL - Adams Pecan was burglarized early Tuesday morning at approximately 2:00 a.m. on March 15, 2016. The suspect, Richard Lee Moultrie, used a sledgehammer to break in a front door of Adams Pecan. The impact from the sledgehammer shattered the glass in the door. After he entered the building, he shut the door. After taking the money, the door he entered was jammed shut, he was unable to exit through the same door. He entered the warehouse a escaped through another door and somehow lost his disguise. The video surveillance captured the image of a person believed to be Moultrie. The alarm system at Adams Pecan, which is monitored 24 hours a day, notified police of the break-in. The police were on the scene within minutes, but the burglar had escaped moments before they arrived. The burglar stole approximately $300. Police say Moultrie admitted to the burglary.

We (Russia) Containing over 30 percent of the world's natural Resources... Poor schools Poor hospitals Poor social help... U.S. billionaire philanthropist George Soros has predicted that Russian President Vladimir Putin's regime will face bankruptcy in 2017, when the nation's economic troubles erode its leader's domestic approval ratings, according to a column Soros published this week. "Putin's popularity, which remains high, rests on a social compact requiring the government to deliver financial stability and a slowly but steadily rising standard of living," Soros wrote in his column on the Project Syndicate website on Wednesday. "Western sanctions, coupled with the sharp decline in the price of oil, will force the regime to fail on both counts." Russia's social security programs are running out of money, and the nation's budget deficit stands at 7 percent of GDP, Soros wrote. Unless the government brings the deficit to 3 percent, inflation may spiral "out of control," he said. "These and other developments will have a negative effect on living standards and opinions of the electorate before the parliamentary election in the fall," he said. A series of protest demonstrations have flared up around Russia in recent months against soaring bills and declining living standards.

Paul Craig Robert Most people who are aware and capable of thought have given up on what is called the "mainstream media." The presstitutes have destroyed their credibility by helping Washington to lie-"Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction," "Iranian nukes," "Assad's use of chemical weapons," "Russian invasion of Ukraine," and so forth. The "mainstream media" has also destroyed its credibility by its complete acceptance of whatever government authorities say about alleged "terrorist events," such as 9/11 and Boston Marathon Bombing, or alleged mass shootings such as Sandy Hook and San Bernardino. Despite glaring inconsistencies, contradictions, and security failures that seem too unlikely to be believable, the "mainstream media" never asks questions or investigates. It merely reports as fact whatever authorities say. The sign of a totalitarian or authoritarian state is a media that feels no responsibility to investigate and to find the truth, accepting the role of propagandist instead. The entire Western media has been in the propaganda mode for a long time. In the US the transformation of journalists into propagandists was completed with the concentration of a diverse and independent media in six mega-corporations that are no longer run by journalists. As a consequence, thoughtful and aware people increasingly rely on alternative media that does question, marshall facts, and offers analysis in place of an unbelievable official story line. The prime example is 9/11. Large numbers of experts have destroyed the official story that has no factual evidence in its behalf. However, even without the hard evidence that 9/11 truthers have provided, the official story gives itself away. We are supposed to believe that a few Saudi Arabians with no technology beyond box cutters and no support from any government's intelligence service were able to outwit the massive surveillance technology created by DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and NSA (National Security Agency) and deal the most humiliating blow to a superpower ever delivered in human history. Moreover, they were able to do this without the President of the United States, the US Congress, and the "mainstream media" demanding accountability for such a total failure of the high-tech national security state. Instead of a White House led investigation of such a massive security failure, the White House resisted for more than one year any investigation whatsoever until finally giving in to demands from 9/11 families that could not be bought off and agreeing to a 9/11 Commission. The Commission did not investigate but merely sat and wrote down the story told to it by the government. Afterwards, the Commission's chairman, co-chairman, and legal counsel wrote books in which they said that information was withheld from the Commission, that the Commission was lied to by officials of the government, and that the Commission "was set up to fail." Despite all of this, the presstitutes still repeat the official propaganda, and there remain enough gullible Americans to prevent accountability. Competent historians know that false flag events are used to bring to fruition agendas that cannot otherwise be achieved. 9/11 gave the neoconservatives, who controlled the George W. Bush administration, the New Pearl Harbor that they said was necessary in order to launch their hegemonic military invasions of Muslim countries. The Boston Marathon Bombing permitted a trial run of the American Police State, complete with shutting down a large American city, putting 10,000 armed troops and SWAT teams on the streets where the troops conducted house to house searches forcing the residents out of their homes at gunpoint. This unprecedented operation was justified as necessary in order to locate one wounded 19 year old man, who clearly was a patsy. There are so many anomalies in the Sandy Hook story that it has generated a cottage industry of skeptics. I agree that there are anomalies, but I don't have the time to study the issue and come to my own conclusion. What I have noticed is that we are not given many good explanations of the anomalies. For example, in this video made from the TV news coverage, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaHtxlSDgbk the video's creator makes a case that the person who is the grieving father who lost his son is the same person outfitted in SWAT clothes at Sandy Hook following the shooting. The person is identified as a known actor. Now, it seems to me that this is easy to test. The grieving father is known, the actor is known, and the authorities have to know who the SWAT team member is. If these three people, who can pass for one another, can be assembled in one room at the same time, we can dismiss the expose claimed in this one video. However, if three separate people cannot be produced together, then we must ask why this deception, which raises questions about the entire story. You can watch the entire video or just skip to the 9:30 mark and observe what appears to be the same person in two different roles. The "mainstream media" has the ability to make these simple investigations, but does not. Instead, the "mainstream media" calls skeptics "conspiracy theorists." There is a book by Professor Jim Fetzer and Mike Palecek that says Sandy Hook was a FEMA drill to promote gun control and that no one died at Sandy Hook. The book was available on amazon.com but was suddenly banned. Why ban a book? Here is a free download of the book: http://ift.tt/1YmZedC I have not read the book and have no opinion. I do know, however, that the police state that America is becoming certainly has a powerful interest in disarming the public. I also heard today a news report that people said to be parents of the dead children are bringing a lawsuit against the gun manufacturer, which is consistent with Fetzer's claim. Here is a Buzzsaw interview with Jim Fetzer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-W3rIEe-ag If the information Fetzer provides is correct, clearly the US government has an authoritarian agenda and is using orchestrated events to create a false reality for Americans in order to achieve the agenda. It seems to me that Fetzer's facts can be easily checked. If his facts check out, then a real investigation is required. If his facts do not check out, the official story gains credibility as Fetzer is one of the most energetic skeptics. Fetzer cannot be dismissed as a kook. He graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, has a Ph.D. from Indiana University and was Distinguished McKnight University Professor at the University of Minnesota until his retirement in 2006. He has had a National Science Foundation fellowship, and he has published more than 100 articles and 20 books on philosophy of science and philosophy of cognitive science. He is an expert in artificial intelligence and computer science and founded the international journal Minds and Machines. In the late 1990s, Fetzer was asked to organize a symposium on philosophy of mind. For an intelligent person, the official stories of President Kennedy's assassination and 9/11 are simply not believable, because the official stories are not consistent with the evidence and what we know. Fetzer's frustration with less capable and less observant people increasingly shows, and this works to his disadvantage. It seems to me that if the authorities behind the official Sandy Hook story are secure with the official story, they would jump on the opportunity to confront and disprove Fetzer's facts. Moreover, somewhere there must be photographs of the dead children, but, like the alleged large number of recordings by security cameras of an airliner hitting the Pentagon, no one has ever seen them. At least not that I know of. What disturbs me is that no one in authority or in the mainstream media has any interest in checking the facts. Instead, those who raise awkward matters are dismissed as conspiracy theorists. Why this is damning is puzzling. The government's story of 9/11 is a story of a conspiracy as is the government's story of the Boston Marathon Bombing. These things happen because of conspiracies. What is at issue is: whose conspiracy? We know from Operation Gladio and Operation Northwoods that governments do engage in murderous conspiracies against their own citizens. Therefore, it is a mistake to conclude that governments do not engage in conspiracies. One often hears the objection that if 9/11 was a false flag attack, someone would have talked. Why would they have talked? Only those who organized the conspiracy would know. Why would they undermine their own conspiracy? Recall William Binney. He developed the surveillance system used by NSA. When he saw that it was being used against the American people, he talked. But he had taken no documents with which to prove his claims, which saved him from successful prosecution but gave him no evidence for his claims. This is why Edward Snowden took the documents and released them. Nevertheless, many see Snowden as a spy who stole national security secrets, not as a whistleblower warning us that the Constitution that protects us is being overthrown. High level government officials have contradicted parts of the 9/11 official story and the official story that links the invasion of Iraq to 9/11 and to weapons of mass destruction. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta contradicted Vice President Cheney and the official 9/11 story timeline. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill has said that overthrowing Saddam Hussein was the subject of the first cabinet meeting in the George W. Bush administration long before 9/11. He wrote it in a book and told it on CBS News' 60 Minutes. CNN and other news stations reported it. But it had no effect. Whistleblowers pay a high price. Many of them are in prison. Obama has prosecuted and imprisoned a record number. Once they are thrown in prison, the question becomes: "Who would believe a criminal?" As for 9/11 all sorts of people have talked. Over 100 police, firemen and first responders have reported hearing and experiencing a large number of explosions in the Twin Towers. Maintanence personnel report experiencing massive explosions in the sub-basements prior to the building being hit by an airplane. None of this testimony has had any effect on the authorities behind the official story or on the presstitutes. There are 2,300 architects and engineers who have written to Congress requesting a real investigation. Instead of the request being treated with the respect that 2,300 professionals deserve, the professionals are dismissed as "conspiracy theorists." An international panel of scientists have reported the presence of reacted and unreacted nanothermite in the dust of the World Trade Centers. They have offered their samples to government agencies and to scientists for confirmation. No one will touch it. The reason is clear. Today science funding is heavily dependent on the federal government and on private companies that have federal contracts. Scientists understand that speaking out about 9/11 means the termination of their career. By Paul Craig Roberts The government has us where it wants us-powerless and disinformed. Most Americans are too uneducated to be able to tell the difference between a building falling down from asymetrical damage and one blowing up. Mainstream journalists cannot question and investigate and keep their jobs. Scientists cannot speak out and continue to be funded. Truth telling has been shoved off into the alternative Internet media where I would wager the government runs sites that proclaim wild conspiracies, the purpose of which is to discredit all skeptics.

Do Americans Live In A False Reality Created By Orchestrated Events?

By: jironde on: 11:59 AM
An online petition to allow guns into the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July has received more than 24,000 signatures in favor of overturning the "irresponsible and hypocritical act of selecting a 'gun-free zone'" for the party's quadrennial gathering. The convention will be held between 18 and 21 July at the Quicken Loans Arena, a venue with a policy that forbids "firearms and other weapons of any kind" on its grounds. Republican debate venues have also barred firearms. The petition, posted anonymously to Change.org last week , declares the Cleveland arena's weapons ban "a direct affront to the second amendment and puts all attendees at risk". "By forcing attendees to leave their firearms at home," the petition continues, "the RNC and Quicken Loans Arena are putting tens of thousands of people at risk both inside and outside of the convention site". The petition makes several other demands. It asks for Ohio governor John Kasich - one of the party's three remaining presidential candidates - to use executive action to override arena owners' right to set rules over their private property, and for the Republican party chair to explain "how a venue so unfriendly to second amendment rights was chosen for the Republican convention". "Every American is endowed with a God-given constitutional right to carry a gun wherever and whenever they please," the author writes. The question of an individual right to carry a gun only reached the supreme court in 2008 , and states have broad authority to regulate gun control. God is not mentioned in the US constitution or bill of rights . The group that claims to be behind the petition, Americans for Responsible Open Carry, appears to have been formed for the express purpose of creating the Change.org form. Twitter user Hyperationalist, whose biography reads "speaking truth to stupid", took credit for the petition, and regardless of whether the form was created as parody, signatories' comments show that many took it at face value. A spokesperson for the Republican party told the Beacon Journal that secret service agents, Cleveland police and state and federal law enforcement agencies will handle security at the convention. Kasich and his two rivals, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, have expressed vocal opposition to gun control. Trump has called for an end to gun-free zones in schools, and called places with gun bans "target practice for the sickos and for the mentally ill". "I think gun-free zones are a catastrophe. They're a feeding frenzy for sick people," he said. Many Trump properties prohibit guns . The businessman has said he will consider lifting such rules. The frontrunner has also warned that there could be "riots" at the convention, should he hold a majority of delegates but fail to secure victory. Violence has increasingly plagued Trump's campaign rallies: supporters have repeatedly assaulted protesters ; his campaign manager has been accused of grabbing a reporter ; and the candidate has himself said he would like to see protesters punched or "roughed up". Some commenters on the petition alluded to such incidents, and claimed to have signed the petition because, as one Ohio man put it , "Republicans should face the same dangers that they have inflicted on the general public". Others were less equivocal - for instance, a Missouri man who declared : "You either support the amendment or you don't!" Republicans clashed over guns with local and federal security before the 2012 convention in Tampa, Florida, where secret service agents only allowed law enforcement officers to carry firearms. The city's rules against gun control prohibited its police from enacting a proposal from Republicans to make Tampa a "clean zone", prohibiting string and gas masks but not licensed firearms. The NRA did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the petition, or whether the pro-gun lobbying group supports allowing weapons into the arena.

The Syrian army troops and Desert Falcons launched massive assault on the ancient citadel of Palmyra in Homs province on Friday, according to a video published by Alalam News Network . According to battlefield sources , pro-government forces consolidated their grip on a height some 650 yards near the citadel. "Vanguards have been approaching the site via several fronts, with mortar detachments providing them with cover, but air support and heavy artillery are not being used in the operation," the source said according to the published video . The footage shows the Syrian army in cooperation with the National Defence Forces (NDF), Hezbollah fighters and Syrian and Russian air forces have purged the ISIS Takfiri terrorists from 110 square kilometers of lands near the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) in the Eastern parts of Homs province in the past 48 hours. A few hours ago, the Syrian army and its allies won control over a key hill in Eastern Homs province. "The Syrian army and NDF continued pounding ISIS positions near Palmyra, and established full control over Syriatel hill near Palmyra Castle," an army source said. Battlefield reports from Homs province said terrorists have sustained heavy casualties in the Syrian army and popular forces' continued and large-scale operations against ISIS's concentration centers on Friday. Meantime, the Russian Defense Ministry said the country's bombers hit 146 terrorist targets around Palmyra from March 20 to March 23, and killed more than 300 terrorists during the operations. "From March 20 to March 23 Russian Air and Space Forces conducted 41 sorties around Palmyra, Homs province, hitting 146 military terrorist targets. Six command centers, 320 terrorists, five tanks, six artillery systems, two ammunition depots and 15 vehicles were destroyed," defence ministry said. The Syrian army soldiers and their allies have kept on marching on militant-held regions in Eastern Homs province in recent days to capture the strategic city of Palmyra which has been under the control of the ISIS since May 2015. The pro-government forces imposed full control over the Western slopes of Jabal (Mount) Al-Tar after a violent battle with the ISIS terrorists near Palmyra on Thursday. According to a military source in Homs province, the Syrian Army forces and Hezbollah fighters broke ISIS's defense lines on the Western slopes of Jabal al-Tar, forcing them to retreat to the Eastern parts of the strategic mountain-top, West of Palmyra. In addition to the liberation of the Western slopes of Jabal Al-Tar, the Syrian Army and Hezbollah also captured a fuel station in the Southwestern suburbs of Palmyra. Meanwhile, Syrian army troops launched a night raid on the Western outskirts of Palmyra, targeting an ISIS strategic position in the area, a battlefield source said. "The Syrian Army and Hezbollah started operation to capture Semiramis Hotel in Palmyra Suburb which is now an ISIS base," a source said. Similar to the well-known Qatari Royal Villa, the Semiramis Hotel has been turned into a fortified military installation by ISIS, it is also used as the Takfiri terrorist group's barracks. If the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah succeed in liberating the Semiramis Hotel from the ISIS terrorists, they will be in a position to enter Palmyra for the first time since their large-scale retreat from this ancient city on May last year. While the Syrian Armed Forces focus on the Semiramis Hotel, the Russian Air Force is pounding ISIS's supply route between the city and the nearby town of Al-Sakhanah. The Russian Air Force carried out more than two dozen airstrikes and the number is likely to skyrocket in the coming hours as the battle to liberate Palmyra intensifies. The Takfiri terrorists of ISIS have blown up several ancient columns, temples and tower tombs in Palmyra in Syria. The head of the UN cultural watchdog has branded the destruction by ISIS terrorists of ancient temple in Palmyra ruins as a "war crime". "This destruction is a new war crime and an immense loss for the Syrian people and for humanity," UNESCO Chief Irina Bokova said in a statement, adding that the "perpetrators must be accountable for their actions". "The art and architecture of Palmyra, standing at the crossroads of several civilizations, is a symbol of the complexity and wealth of the Syrian identity and history," she said. "Daesh (ISIS) is killing people and destroying sites, but cannot silence history and will ultimately fail to erase this great culture from the memory of the world," she added; FNA reported.

Syrian Army Troops, Allied Forces Advancing toward Palmyra Citadel

The Syrian army troops backed by popular forces have captured 110 square kilometers of lands in their push in the Eastern part of Homs province in the last two days, according to a video published by Alalam News Network . This is probably the best video you can see on the effects of multiculturalism (applied to the Islamic culture). It is a Brigite Gabriel's testimony describing the experience of Libano an oasis in the Middle East so Christian and generous decided to open the door indiscriminately to Muslims and become the example of the multicultural society of the East. The long term outcome? Civil war, chaos and a country that collapsed .... Soon to be witnessed in Europe. Everybody know what'll happen but few know what to do and say.

24 March 2016 - Teddy bears, tears, candles, cartoons, murals, mosaics, flowers, flags, projections, hashtags, balloons, wreaths, lights, vigils, scarves, and more. These are the best solutions the Western world seems to come up with every few months when we are slammed by another Islamist terrorist attack. We are our own sickness. Since the world learned of the dozens dead, hundreds injured, and hundreds of thousands affected by Monday's attack on the NATO and European Union capital, we have seen an outpouring of what is commonly known as "solidarity". This word - most commonly associated with hard-left politics, trades union activism, socialism, and poseur indie rock bands - has come to mean very little in reality. In effect, "standing in solidarity" with someone now means that you have observed the situation, changed your Facebook profile picture accordingly, and patted yourself on the back. And if like dead bodies Facebook profile pictures lost heat, it would be accurate to say that the Tricolores that adorned the social media profiles of many had hardly become cold before we were all changing the colours of the bands on the flags. From blue to black. From white to yellow. The blood red remains. Because nowadays, teddy bears are the new resolve. They symbolise everything we have become in response to our way of life being threatened, and our people being slaughtered on our streets: inanimate, squishy, and full of crap. Our security services and our police, hamstrung by political correctness, are just as interested (or more?) in rounding up Twitter "hate speech" offenders than criminal, rapist, or terrorist migrants. Our borders are as porous as our brains. We refuse to realise that there are now literally millions of people amongst us who hate us. Who hate our way of life, and who will, one day, dominate our public life. But of course, such statements are dismissed as fear-mongering, alarmist, or "out of touch with reality". As if the data doesn't exist, or the demographics aren't shifting quickly enough to notice. As if vast parts of our towns and cities haven't become ghettos, or no-go zones, or hubs of child grooming activity, or terrorism. As if mosques, schools, prisons, and universities aren't used as recruiting grounds for radicals. As if the blood of our countrymen hasn't even been spilled at all. Instead, we will now think deeply about how we can "reach out" to these populations. How we can "co-exist" and "be tolerant" of one another. As if toleration - which is actually the permittance of what is not actually approved or desired - is a healthy aspiration for a society. It is as if we model our countries on the practice of bending over and "taking one for the team", chastising those who fail to "tolerate" the most barbaric traditions of alien cultures. It is everything this cartoon - obviously branded "racist" - suggests. "But come on, Raheem, not all immigrants, or Muslims, are criminals, or rapists.... you're not!" Yeah - and look at me. Excoriated daily by Islamists on Twitter. Why? Because I've integrated and I love my country. Because I refuse to believe that an Islamic caliphate is the best thing for Britain, or anywhere, quite frankly. Where is my white (or brown) knight? Where are the voices of the moderate Muslim world defending me? Not that I need protection, or defence, but some people aren't as hard headed or resolved as I am. Thusly, the albeit minority evil amongst British Muslims is thriving because good Muslims are doing nothing. At some point, we have to question why. I'm not sure most people are ready for the answers to that one. o continue to sit there with your head in your hands. Mourning only to make yourself feel better. Missing people you never knew. Exclaiming, as the most immature of minds does: "Why can't we all just get along?" Expressing sympathy is no bad thing. But to be truly sympathetic towards someone under attack, one must be chivalrous, gallant, and unafraid. Watching someone getting raped, and tweeting your solidarity with them is not enough. Human nature and goodness calls upon us to intervene. To assist. To free someone from their torture, and to save them from their demise. It is not enough to scrawl "no fear" on a post it note, and stick it onto some lb3 flowers. We must be fearless in electing leaders who we feel will best keep us safe. It is one of the few areas of our lives in which we should be able to feel comfortable. We pay our taxes, you keep us safe. If not, then we must arm ourselves. If our governments refuse to protect us, or even begin to use the tools with which we empower them against us: surveillance, counter-terror laws, detention, then we will need to take the law back into our own hands. We cannot be afraid of doing so. It is where our societies all sprung from. The defence of ourselves as individuals. The defence of our families, our properties, our means of production, our communities, and our neighbours. It is why arms sales to individuals has shot up since the migrant crisis in Europe. Many Germans are losing their faith in their elected leaders to protect them. The same applies in Sweden, and in Austria. Some people refuse to take being wiped out laying down. How quaint. It is also time to start to make serious, wide-reaching demands of our politicians on the subject of immigration and Islamism. When U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump said what he said about a temporary ban on Muslim immigration to Britain, the tolerance lobby went into overdrive: full condemnations across the board from politicians - including presidents and prime ministers, across the media sphere, and you will recall the House of Commons debating a petition to ban the man from the country. Now even the most politically correct of Hollywood luvvies is asking: is he really that wrong on this? Because Mr. Trump has thought in a cycle longer than his potential presidency: what does the Western world look like in 20, 30, 50 years? What kind of societies do we leave to our children? Do we leave cities with soldiers on patrol. With "peace" signs scrawled onto bomb-struck buildings? Or do we leave them safe places, with real promise for the future. Like our parents, or at least our parents' parents, left us. In order to confront this question, we have to get to the root cause of the problem. There is too much immigration, or at least, not enough hand-picked immigration, into the Western world today. People of my age had no choice that our post-war leaders felt the heavy hand of post-colonial guilt on their shoulders, and decided to open up our countries, and flood us with "diversity". But we do have a choice to not make the same mistakes again. And we have a duty to correct the ones that were made. And yes, that does mean exactly what you think it means. It means ending mass migration. It means smashing apart ghettos and no go zones. It means repealing laws that allow for Sharia councils. It means asserting what it means to be British, or European, or American, without fearing a backlash from the political left, or the media classes who scarcely see a face my colour let alone darker. Let them riot. Let them cry. I would far rather be subjected to ceaseless "direct action" by the scourges of my own society than import others. At least if my fellow countrymen are deplorable, I won't get called a racist for pointing it out. So put down the teddy bears, burst the balloons, and let's start demanding again that our countries are safe and civilised. And if we can't find people who'll make that happen for us... let's do it ourselves. http://ift.tt/1RmYd2f

21 March 2016 - Turkish officials arrived on the Greek island of Lesbos on Monday to help implement a deal with the European Union to tackle a migrant crisis that has tested European cohesion to its limits. The day after the formal start of an agreement intended to close off the main route through which a million refugees and migrants arrived in Europe last year, authorities said 1,662 people had arrived on Greek islands by 7 a.m. (0500 GMT), twice the official count of the day before. Just after 4:30 a.m., one coastguard vessel rescued 54 refugees and migrants from the open sea and brought them to the port, some of the 698 arrivals counted in Lesbos. They staggered down the ramp, women and children first, one elderly man bundled up in blankets. "Where are we going?" asked one Syrian woman who was travelling with her husband and daughter. The arrivals were directed to a coastguard bus that would drive them to the Moria "hot spot", a centre where new arrivals are being registered and their asylum applications processed. "We are very tired. I want to go to my family in Sweden," said Ahmet Bayraktar, a 32-year-old unemployed accountant from Aleppo, Syria. "We'll try, God willing." Like others, he was unaware of the accord, which means new arrivals will now be kept in confinement while their asylum bids are fast-tracked. If their applications fail, they will be sent back to Turkey. "We don't know about this," Bayraktar said. "We're coming directly from Syria. Everybody wants to go to the border. We don't have the news, we don't have electricity, we don't have anything." Two hours later, just as the run rose above the Aegean Sea, the same coastguard vessel pulled another 44 people from the water, many of them escaping conflict in Congo and Sierra Leone. One woman cradled a baby just a few months old. They walked silently to the bus for Moria, a sprawling, gated complex of prefabricated containers and hard tents. Before Friday's deal was reached, migrants and refugees were free to wander out of the camp and head to ferries to the mainland. Now, they will be held there until their asylum applications are processed and those who are not deemed eligible will be sent back to Turkey, starting on April 4. http://ift.tt/1SdHyOY

According to David O'Byrne's article titled, "Turkey's Kurdish party under attack", published in the Financial Times on 10 Sep. 2015, Henri Barkey , the Cia's expert on Turkey and director of the Middle East program at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington stated: "But for Erdogan this is a lose-lose situation. Either the elections produce the same result and people will say he has created this escalation for nothing, or 'the Hdp will fail to get into parliament and the cities will blow up'. What if bombs explode, for instance in the Istiklal Avenue of Istanbul? ", regarding the upcoming elections on 1 Nov. * Pkk's pre-Election Threat A similar statement was made by Bese Hozat, the co-president of Pkk's parallel state structure, Kck's so-called executive council before the elections on 7 June 2015: "If the Hdp fails to get into parliament, Turkey will turn to Vietnam", Hozat threatened in the article she wrote for "Ozg"ur G"undem, a pro-Pkk publication, on 20 May 2015. * The New York Times 'Hopeful' About Pkk's Ceasefire Offer The New York Times reported the attack in Ankara and claimed that the ceasefire proposal of the Pkk terrorist organization until the elections is a "promising signal for peace". But according to the Times reporters, "it is not clear if the violence will de-escalate, because the government seems persistent about military operations against the Pkk". Furthermore, American Cnn International reported the attack and pointed out Isis as the main suspect. Cnn also featured views of the experts that support this thesis. * Turkey Must Forcefully be Aligned Britain's Independent newspaper demanded that Turkey must be pressured to ' side with Pkk/Pyd ' in an article, published on 22 Sep. 2015. The article claimed that the only way to defeat Isis is to support Ypg and argued that "the United States must ask Turkey to stop attacking Pkk in the most strongest tone". Trump: If I win, it will be incredible news for Israel In an exclusive interview with Israel Hayom, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says: "If the Republican establishment stops me from running, it would be a disaster for America" o "Hillary Clinton has always failed," he says of his rival. Boaz Bismuth, March 18, 2016, Israel Hayom No more than 10 minutes' drive from each other, and almost at the same time, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton gave their victory speeches Tuesday. The two have yet to be named as their parties' presidential nominees -- the idea that Trump may actually be the nominee has just barely entered the Republican establishment's realm of possibilities -- but after "Super Tuesday II" this week, they are both well on their way. Clinton, the Democrat, who spoke at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in Florida, and Trump, the Republican, who spoke at his private Palm Beach club Mar-a-Lago, both demonstrated that they are thinking ahead. They are already jumping head-first into the true battle, the one that awaits them after the primaries, the most insane and exhausting primaries in the political history of America. Florida and Ohio, this week's main battlegrounds, will be returning to the headlines in November. Clinton and Trump will likely have a score to settle then. But if Clinton's nomination appears all but guaranteed, for the ever-popular Trump, that is not the case. He may have grossed all of Florida's 99 delegates, and he may have also won in North Carolina, Missouri, and Illinois, but his defeat to John Kasich in Ohio complicates things for him. His path to the Republican convention with the highest number of delegates seems certain, but achieving the 1,237 delegates necessary to win the nomination at the Republican Convention in July does not. To him, gaining 1,237 delegates is like an entry ticket into the promised land. Trump is concerned that in the event of a brokered convention in Cleveland this June, the Republican Party will play a trick on him to keep him from clinching the nomination. Clinton, for her part, has her own problems. Beyond the fact that she is having trouble generating enthusiasm among her voters, she has another irritating issue to deal with: her Democratic opponent Bernie Sanders. Sanders may be behind in the polls, but he is the darling of the liberal media, beloved by young voters and popular among those who feel that incumbent President Barack Obama is not left-wing enough. The Vermont senator has already announced that he is thinking about the future, planning for the primary in California in June. He appears to be hearing his young supporters chanting "run, Bernie, run." So he runs. Where to? Perhaps to cement his title as the leader of the opposition -- not the institutional opposition but the opposition on the street. Unless, that is, he clinches a deal with Clinton first. Falling for Trump's charms It is important to understand that Trump's success this week, and throughout the entire campaign, has worried everyone, Democrats and Republicans alike. It is quite obvious that the Republican establishment is alarmed at the prospect of Trump becoming the nominee. He is not the nominee they had hoped for. But neither is the kid trailing behind him, Texas Senator Ted Cruz. The establishment's favorites have failed the Florida test: Marco Rubio, a Florida senator, who wanted to mimic Obama's trajectory to the White House but conceded Tuesday that "it is not God's plan that I be president in 2016 or maybe ever," and Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida, who watched Tuesday's votes from the sidelines. In Florida, which I visited this week, only one name could be heard: Donald Trump. Jewish pensioners, white Americans, doctors, homeless people, merchants, contractors and even expatriate Israelis have all fallen for Trump's charms. Even Latinos told me that for the sake of a better future, they are willing to overlook "the nonsense that Trump says about Hispanics." But Trump knows very well that it is not going to be easy. He understands that if he doesn't get the necessary number of delegates, the GOP will hold a brokered convention (also known as an "open" convention) where loyalties and commitments can shift dramatically on a dime. It is precisely this kind of convention that Ohio governor Kasich is hoping for. Kasich defeated Trump in his home state. But this week, Trump warned against such an eventuality, saying that his and Cruz's supporters, who make up the majority of the Republican voters, may get even by staying home in November. "For the sake of our children, I am willing to vote for Trump," says Maria, a clerk at a CVS drugstore in Miami. "Dignity is important, but so is making a living. Without a livelihood there is no dignity, and that is exactly where we are headed. I would rather give my vote to someone who has already made something of himself. Now he can make something of me." The Democrats have caught the bug too The Democratic establishment has also caught the Trump bug. David Plouffe, who successfully managed Obama's presidential campaign in 2008 and later served as his adviser, has warned the Democrats not to underestimate the mogul. On Tuesday evening, while America was following the results of the primary votes, Plouffe explained that Trump is a more dangerous rival for Clinton than Cruz. "We've never seen anything like this in politics," he told Fox News. "Democrats should not be popping champagne corks since Donald Trump is doing so well." Plouffe's analysis should set off warning bells for Clinton as it expresses her failure to enthuse voters. Plouffe predicts that the coalition of young voters, minorities and women that put Obama in the White House twice will not unite behind Clinton. He advised her not to assume that it will. But with all due respect to the Democrats, the big story of the week was on the Republican side. That is precisely why, after visiting Nevada and Texas, I sought out Trump supporters during my stay in Florida. They are everywhere. At first they were hesitant to reveal themselves, because the media has a tendency to portray them as ignorant (Likud voters in 1977 know that feeling), but now they don't care anymore. Trump goes after the media without inhibitions, and his supporters lap it up and ask for more. On Tuesday, Trump did not hesitate to call reporters "disgusting." It would be interesting to find out how many votes that comment earned him. Trump is angry at the media for making him out to be a racist. Recently, the media generated controversy over Trump's failure to distance himself from former KKK leader David Duke, who voiced his support for the Republican front-runner. Last week, when a Trump rally in Chicago was called off amid violent protests, the media tried to portray him as a riot instigator. Even his rivals from within the party, like Kasich, spoke about the toxic atmosphere he generates. But this week the pundits conceded that it was not Trump who instigated the commotion in Chicago. He just canceled the event because they came looking for him. Suddenly everyone was talking at length about the First Amendment and freedom of speech. Suddenly everyone realized that the protesters were organized, that the violence wasn't spontaneous. Incidentally, it is interesting to note that four days after the riots in Chicago, Trump won the primary in Illinois. At this rate, we may become convinced that it wasn't Sanders who sent the protesters, as Trump alleged, but rather Trump himself. After all, every attack against him only makes him stronger. In his victory speech in the Mar-a-Lago ballroom, Trump assessed that more than $40 million have been spent recently on negative ads targeting him. "Nobody has ever, ever in the history of politics received the kind of negative advertising that I have. Record, record, record. By the way, mostly false. I wouldn't say 100%, but about 90%," Trump said. "You explain it to me, my numbers went up. I don't understand it. Nobody understands it." He admits that it is a little embarrassing to see ads denigrating him while watching golf, but immediately afterward he won at the polls. There is no doubt that no other candidate would ever face the kind of criticism that Trump faces. The character of the current era contributes quite a bit: Americans are angry at Washington, at the establishment, and at the faltering economy, and they love Trump. In 2012, negative advertising killed Mitt Romney's campaign. In 2016, negative advertising is only making Trump stronger. Vive la difference. There's never been anything like this The first time I met Trump was four years ago, after Romney lost the 2012 presidential election. Trump was fuming in the VIP lounge. I'm not sure he stayed until the end of the night. The initial results were enough for him. He never liked Obama, to say the least, and he was convinced Obama could have been defeated. Romney wasn't up for the job, even though he was a worthy candidate. Trump was furious. Last December, we met again before the Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas. Trump was already ahead in the polls, but no one was taking him seriously yet. "They thought I wouldn't run," he said to me. "Then they thought I would drop out in August, then they thought that the people who supported me in the polls wouldn't actually vote for me. You'll see that they will." He may not be a polished politician, but Trump certainly has good instincts. Several weeks ago, I interviewed him again, after his victory in Nevada. Once again he sounded sure of his victory. He was annoyed that his commitment to Israel had been questioned. "I am your greatest friend among all the candidates," he told me then. This Tuesday, I arrived at the luxurious Mar-a-Lago. The club is an old and magical mansion, built in 1927, with more than 100 rooms. In 1985, Trump bought the estate for a relative song, $10 million. Today, the going price would be closer to $150 million to $200 million. This was where Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley spent their honeymoon. This week, I was there, along with 300 American members of the press. Contrary to the other candidates, who just go home after every victory or concession speech, Trump has introduced a new element: After the votes, he usually holds a press conference. This time, he decided to forgo the press conference -- perhaps he was exhausted, or maybe he is still angry with the press. Maybe it's a little of both. I wanted so badly to ask him: If you win the lead but fail to achieve the necessary number of delegates, will any attempt on behalf of the Republican Party to oust you in June be tantamount to GOP suicide? I stood there, shoulder to shoulder with Trump's supporters and representatives of countless media outlets, when suddenly Trump started talking about "disgusting reporters." "Some are nice, some are nice," he added. The reporters were not offended; they're used to it. They play a game of cat and mouse -- they criticize him, he fires back, and so on and so forth. But behind the scenes, they love him. He gets ratings. The American public has never followed an election as closely as they are following this one. The race is starting to resemble a reality program on television. And it is no coincidence: The leading candidate is famous, and these days being famous is better than having a master's degree. It's just the way it is. The reporters may level criticism, but it was television that created these monsters. There is a lot of hypocrisy in the media's coverage of Trump. Either way, the press conference that wasn't, ended. I bid farewell to the ABC correspondent. In 2000, she witnessed the recount in Florida when George Bush went up against Al Gore. And still, she thinks that what we are witnessing this year is "unprecedented." I left the exclusive club. On my way out, I encountered revelers in formal wear drinking champagne. A Hispanic worker explained to me in Spanish where the exit was. I went up the stairs, and whom should I bump into? Donald Trump himself. He was just telling his guests that he had had enough and was tired. I patted him on the back and he turned around. Q: Mr. Trump, I'm the reporter from Israel who interviewed you two weeks ago. Remember? "Boaz," he replied. "Of course I remember. So? How did people in Israel respond to my interview? You know, I also have ties in Israel. You know that some of my family members are Jewish , and I know that they love me in Israel." I told him that on Shabbat, at my synagogue, he was all anyone could talk about. "Great," he said. I asked if I could ask him a few questions. He took my notepad, my phone and my iPad. (Speaking of iPads, that night Trump said in his speech that if he wins the presidency, Apple will manufacture its products only in America, not in China or in Vietnam.) "Shoot," he said. "Let's do this right. Make yourself comfortable." His many guests, many of whom were longing for one minute with him, looked at the two of us with quite a bit of envy, I think. Q: Mr. Trump, in your view, was today another big day for you in these primaries? "Today was a big day for America, for the American people, and I have to admit, for myself as well. No one thought I could do it. You remember, we talked about it. And now, my support base is only growing and growing. They've said everything about me -- that I wouldn't run, that I would quit, that no one would vote for me, and in the meantime, we are only winning, winning, winning." Q: A win for you could be good news for America. But would the news be as good for America's allies, like Israel? "It would be incredible news for Israel. Your friend is the front-runner in the primaries. I have always been your friend. The people who need to know that, know it. Even in the toughest of times, I always stood by Israel. I supported you at times when it wasn't easy to be a friend of Israel. I am a great friend of Israel and that certainly won't change if I enter the White House. I love Israel." Q: Tonight you mentioned the "bad deal" with Iran. Is a victory for you bad news for Tehran? "There are some things that I don't want to discuss. It wouldn't be wise. But let's think about it together: If it is good news for Israel, it certainly can't be good news for those who don't like Israel." Q: If you come up short in terms of the necessary 1,237 delegates, would it be wise for the Republican Party not to hand you the nomination in a brokered convention? "My message to the establishment is simple. If they stop the candidate who got the most votes from running, it will create a situation that will undoubtedly hand the victory to the Democrats. It would be a disaster. A disaster. A disaster for America." The day after our interview, Trump spoke on CNN, warning fellow Republicans Wednesday of dire consequences if the GOP establishment attempts to have a brokered convention this summer. "I think you'd have riots," he said. Q: You seem very sure of yourself heading into November, but still, Hillary Clinton is an experienced candidate. "Until now, Hillary has only failed. I have conducted countless negotiations in my life and they have all been successes. Her? She always failed. How can someone who was part of a government that failed to defeat ISIS aspire to run America again? You see, the Obama administration, of which she was part, could not defeat ISIS. That is an embarrassment for America." Q: You sound convinced that you will gain the support of voters who currently oppose you. "Yes. I have good reason to believe they will. It is important to be united. It is the only way for us to win in November. The establishment needs to understand: They were sure that Rubio would win, and today he dropped out. They need to accept the fact that I'm their man, or at least that I will be the one who brings the most delegates to the convention. I don't see anyone else doing it." Trump stopped for a minute, turned to his campaign manager and introduced me. "This is Boaz. He's from Israel. Always be nice to him," he said. After we completed our interview, Trump disappeared. I stayed with his supporters, most of them very wealthy. It was clear that many of them would have given a lot to be in my shoes at that moment. Incidentally, the following day, Trump gave a telephone interview to Fox News, revealing that he would not participate in the debate the following Monday, ahead of the votes in Utah, Arizona and Washington. He explained that he had promised to speak before 6,000 people at the AIPAC convention next week and "it is important to me." Cruz is also expected to speak at the convention and Clinton is scheduled to attend as well. Take note, all those people who enjoy, for some reason, saying that Israel is not of any interest to anyone in this election. Following Trump's announcement, Kasich also declared that he would skip the debate, and the network had to cancel it altogether. The Republican Party does not know how to handle its front-runner (one of two viable candidates -- pundits surmise that Kasich will not be a part of the equation). In one corner there is Cruz, running an excellent campaign. In the other corner there is Trump, an incredible marketing expert, who is diligently marketing Donald Trump. Neither one is an ideal candidate as far as the Republican establishment is concerned. Now, all that's left is to convince the establishment that neither Trump nor Cruz is the opponent -- it is Hillary Clinton. Good luck to all. http://ift.tt/1RdvWJf ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- Some have recalled that Trump already has work experience as the 'peace-maker' from Miss Universe.

Back Story. Travis Jordan was severely injured in an accident over the weekend at the Iron Horse Perry Mud Bog. He is such a strong person that is in a lot of pain and it will be a long recovery for him. He was at least wearing a helmet and was life flighted immediately to Shands Burn Center and they are taking good care of him. Most of his burns are on his hands, arms, face and right leg. He is a wonderful husband, father and friend. Please keep him in your prayers during this difficult time. We are reaching out to our local friends, family, community and Mud Bogging Family. These funds will provide financial support to Travis and Kristin during this unexpected time. As many of us know Travis' passion is trucks. He was doing something he loves and this accident has left him suffering daily in pain. He said numerous times that he is trying to stay positive and that he's a "BAD ASS." Yes, he is and they will get through this. Any financial support will help them pay for unexpected expenses. Travis is a very hard working man, he owns his own business but is unable to work during this time of his recovery. Finances should be the last of their worries. Thank you all for the continued support and all the wonderful thoughts we are receiving throughout the Community. All donations, big or small will be really appreciated to help this family in need.

Impatient and ignorant driver riding the clutch at the lights. Trying to scare me with his loud diesel engine. As his scare tactics fail, he tells me that he doesn't want to kill me... which basically means if you get out of my way I will not kill you. I was trying to show him that his impatience was pointless as he was stuck in traffic. As I was trying to overtake him for the 5th time he force to go on the other side of the traffic island. Some of you may say that it was dangerous to follow the driver like I did, but he needs to be taught a lesson so that he doesn't try the same trick on other cyclists.
