Union Springs, AL - Adams Pecan was burglarized early Tuesday morning at approximately 2:00 a.m. on March 15, 2016. The suspect, Richard Lee Moultrie, used a sledgehammer to break in a front door of Adams Pecan. The impact from the sledgehammer shattered the glass in the door. After he entered the building, he shut the door. After taking the money, the door he entered was jammed shut, he was unable to exit through the same door. He entered the warehouse a escaped through another door and somehow lost his disguise. The video surveillance captured the image of a person believed to be Moultrie. The alarm system at Adams Pecan, which is monitored 24 hours a day, notified police of the break-in. The police were on the scene within minutes, but the burglar had escaped moments before they arrived. The burglar stole approximately $300. Police say Moultrie admitted to the burglary.
