A journalist embedded with "Taliban" fighters in Logar Province follows along as they attempt a raid on an ANA compound. The group is of unknown size, but I counted eight in the frame at one time plus the camera man makes at least nine. They are outfitted with LMGs, a recoilless rifle, multiple RPGs, and they are hand carrying a DShK heavy machine gun on a tripod mount. They use ICOM radios for primary comms, but later use a cell phone. They supposedly have three SBIEDs that will attempt to breach the compound's walls. The Op started off promising, but quickly turns into a clown show. A seperate sister element gets into contact prematurely, and the heavy machine gun team cannot put the weapon system into action. The SBIEDs have no chance of making it to the fortifications because of standoff distance with no covered approach, so they withdrawal. The DShK is finally put into action as ANA reinforcements arrive, and it's time to retreat. The Taliban commander claims that two of his men were killed.
