Not long ago, the EU/NATO and the U.S. attacked Libya and conspired to murder Muammar Gaddafi. He was disliked by other foreign politicians for his quixotic style and was accused of being a dictator. The real reason why the west disliked Gaddafi though, was his desire to switch to a gold backed currency (African Dinar). All Libyan oil would then be sold exclusively for this currency. This would undermine the petrodollar and just like many other countries before him, he was taken out with a coup fomented by United States and NATO. Coincidentally, Saddam Hussein also wanted to do the same thing, along with Iran and Venezuela (noticing a pattern?). Currently Libya is experiencing a terrible humanitarian crisis with people drowning by the thousands as they attempt to flee the violence riddled country in the aftermath of Gaddafi's murder. I guess the newly installed "democratic values" didn't work out for them to the point of abject desperation... After this attack, Vladimir Putin took a stand and prevented the same actions against Syrian president Bashar Al Assad - who is standing in the way of a pipeline through Syria that would connect Iraqi oil fields with Turkey and EU. He also wants to get off the petrodollar. The accusations of sarin gas attacks that killed dozens of Syrians were proven to be false, based on the signature of the chemicals used to manufacture the gas components. Our media, of course suppressed these findings. The attack was a false flag - just like Colin Powell's yellow cake uranium, "mobile chemical weapons labs" and arguably the assassination of Boris Nemtsov (the jury is still out on MH17). We still continue to fund Syrian "separatists" who end up joining ISIS and negating all of the trillions of dollars we have spent to date on the Iraq war. Almost 1 million of dead Iraqis and thousands of dead US soldiers later, we have accomplished only record levels of debt. We are being forced to negotiate with Iran, who is increasingly active in Iraq to protect their interests. Despite Israeli protests, we are now being forced to the negotiating table if we have any hope to recoup our investment in Iraq. The only thing that stands between us and profit is Syria. Russian intervention pissed off NATO... They realize that Assad will not fall while Russia is actively supporting him. So they financed the coup in Ukraine to gain leverage in the Syrian conflict and alienate russia from the EU. A nice bonus is gaining the EU market for our struggling energy sector. Despite funding a crackdown on smugglers of refugees, EU stated that they do not have the financial resources to rescue the drowning people themselves. Thailand went so far as towing the packed boats back out to sea... This is pretty appalling considering that the EU is directly responsible for the humanitarian crisis and our supposed ideals of democracy and human rights. Just like Saddam and Gaddafi, the west attempted to demonise Putin by painting him as a murderous tyrant that hates gays and suppresses dissent. This is ironic because the US arrested almost 8k occupy wall street demonstrators and is extremely friendly with Saudi Arabia and Qatar - both enforce the death penalty on gays. As an aside, many southern US states still have laws on the books that penalize sodomy, not to mention all of the heated gay marriage debate that is currently going on. The US oil companies and the military industrial complex has a HUGE influence on american politics. They OWN most of our republican representatives and continuously push chickenhawks to destabilize the east. Our military industrial complex wants to keep making money by selling weapons to our taxpayers and our oil companies know that the best way to be profitable is to build a pipeline from canada to texas and ship oil/gas to the EU after cutting russia out of the picture. This is why there is such a strong push by our right wing for this pipeline. As a consequence of all this, Russia and China recently completed the biggest energy deal in history - without using the US dollar. They are also actively building a new central bank along with the BRICS nations and shockingly - the UK. Both Russia and China are suspected of hoarding massive amounts of gold, for what can only be a planned dedollarization. A memorandum of understanding for a new "silk road" of high speed rail that will span the entire asian continent has also been inked. Coincidentally(?) this railway is supposed to go through Ukraine. A high speed rail network has the potential to cut out the American continents from most trade between Asia and the EU. These financial pacts is the reason why Obama is so desperate to pass his bill to fast track TPP agreements as soon as possible. He can see the writing on the wall - after horribly failing with his clumsy foreign policy. The truly sad part about all this: worlds leading socialist countries with the highest life satisfaction ratings in the world, don't even come close to what Gaddafi (the tyrant) provided to the Libyan people. Subsidised housing, cars, 14 cent/gallon gas, free electricity, free healthcare, free education, etc. Do you think we did the right thing?
