There are no words to describe how those using the new "selfie stick" appear while using the device, other than ridiculous. However, it seems that dangerous can now be added to the descriptive words of the practice after a recent video depicting just that went viral. The video starts out relatively normal as a group of friends are simply singing - albeit terribly - to the tune of Player's "Baby Come Back." However, as The Daily What points out, "Wait for it... the singing isn't the only thing that blows," and they aren't lying. Without warning, things go terribly awry for the group when one of the tires of the vehicle they are riding in suddenly burst, thrusting them into chaos. The mediocre singing quickly came to a grinding halt and the voices could be heard as terror flushed over the passengers. As all control was lost, one of the men could be heard in the back telling the driver to "slow down," which we're pretty sure was already her intent. Unfortunately, the car simply slid sideways, making its way off the road until coming to a bumpy stop before the driver asks, "Is everybody good?" Luckily only their egos were bruised by the incident, as we hear one of the girls say, "We're not posting that video." However, as the stars would have it, it still was put online and has since gone viral, earning the four their 15 minutes of fame. There seems to be some argument among viewers regarding what caused the incident - whether it was solely the fault of a blown tire or a driver who should have paid more attention. As explained by YouTube user Kaneikins : "Okay to every 'expert' out there saying she should have paid more attention to the road. if you are traveling 70MPH and a tire blows, its is really f*cking hard to control, you lose steering you will slide, if you criticize her driving you are a moron, her instinct would have been to brake. which is not the best of idea but it is a first reaction. just putting it out there" (Errors are the poster's own.) However, Goofycanadian "GoofyCanadian" Lawlwat shot back saying, "not sure if you actually ever had a blown out tire at highway speeds, its actually very manageable, inles it was either rainy, you were speed, not paying attention, or icy, motorcycles have it worse with blown out tires at high speeds and 90 percent of the bikers dont crash." He later added, "you can even see that she has the car undercontrol for a good 4-5 seconds before she loses control, just bad driving." (Again, errors are those of the poster, but you get his point.) Regardless of who or what was at fault, lauraandy summed it up best when she wrote: "Her driving can and should be criticised. When you are driving 100% of your attention should be on the road. She was paying too much attention to the other idiots in her car and trying to join in with them. How would you feel if someone you love was killed by a driver who was more interested in making a crappy video than driving safely? People need to wake up and stop being so stupid. Accidents can and do happen every single day. Lives are lost because of it. Rubbish videos are not worth the risk." http://ift.tt/1R8AZw3
